How do you make international phone calls?( South Africa)?

    From 16 October, all local and national calls from land-lines in South Africa will use 10-digit numbers (seven-digit numbers preceded by area codes), while the dialling prefix for international calls made from South Africa will change from 09 to 00. The change to the international dialling prefix means, for example, that a call from South Africa to the United Kingdom will be prefixed by 00 44 instead of the current 09 44. from SA you must dial 09 before dialing the code of the country you are trying to call.

Your phone company will be able to tell you. Also, dial "0" on your phone and ask the operator..... In most cases that is what I do if I am not sure...For one thing, for all international calls (not including Canada - U.S. ) you will have to dial 011 to begin with

Well, depends if you are calling South Africa or calling from South Africa. If you are calling from South Africa, then as far as I can remember you dial 09 then the country code then the area code and the number of the person you are calling. If you are calling from another country you need to check the local phone book and see what the international calling code is. In North America it's 011 then the country code (which is 27 for South Africa) then the area code (which, in South Africa's case usually starts with a 0 and you should leave the 0 out!) and the number. As far as the best prices...get a phone card. They are exceptional value and good enough quality. Hope that helps
