Is New R15 coming out 2010?

2010 IN SA! Where the negativity is coming from!?

  • Noticed how horrible and negative people have become about South Africa? Reason being is that we are hosting the 2010 Soccer World Cup here in South Africa! Other countries are trying to show people our crime rate and make lies because they are trying everything to be able to make South Africa not host the 2010! I cant believe it! Oh well, see ya'll at the 2010 which is being held in SOUTH AFRICA!!!!

  • Answer:

no matter what they say the world cup will be held in SA weather they like it or not ,if they scared of the crime they should just stay home and watch the world cup on the television (anyway crime is not only in SA)

Well Kim, sometimes we South Africans have to come out and say "THANK YOU" to the people of the international world, particularly to those who answered this question, for sharing with us your points of view about our country, South Africa. To my fellow South Africans, it's ok to love this country this much, but that must not blindfold us about the true picture of our living conditions in this country. These guys from around the world may sound negetive, but some of them are just honest and are saying the real things that are happening in this country, and we have a choice to either deny what they tell us and label them as negetive people, or take what they are saying as a point of concern and then start thinking how we can tackle this problem, and tackle it. I think we shouldn't deny the fact that crime in South Africa is a serious problem. South Africa is such a beatiful country and I love it so much, but is that the only thing that matters? No, I don't think so. Our safety and our visitor's safety come first. So we've got to face the truth guys. Thank you.

South Africa has had some bad PR recently. Lethal Weapon 2 didn't help either. Don't sweat it, as long as you know those things they say aren't true. I for one am beleiving the stereotypes and never visiting.

Kim, I think you might be incorrect about the negativity coming from us hosting the cup. The negativity seems to be a complete reflection (internationally) of how the people of SA are feeling about the matter and I don't blame them. Let me step back for a second...... SA is fully capable of getting ready for and hosting the cup. But as it stands, crime will be a serious issue to contend with. This is difficult to explain without SA sounding like THE most dangerous place on earth and everyone is scared to leave them homes, and I assure you this is not what I intend. The fact is if you are not cautious you will become a victim of crime. This does (of course) happen worldwide however the chances are slightly higher in this country. South Africa already has a prominent tourism industry but the cup will open the entire world to us which is great. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am worried (and I am not alone) that something terrible will happen when the entire world is watching that will taint SA's image for more than simply a few years. This is where the negativity is coming from.

I'm not even gonna respond anymore. I deleted all my answers to previous negative questions. It's just a waste of time and as another yahoo answerer made me realize that I joined answers to relieve stress and have fun. Joke around with buddies like you and Diesel and Reggae lover and so on... To answer your question...it all started with this negative webpage "crimexposouthafrica". Then one guy and gal (no names this time) started posting this site in all areas of yahoo answers. This led to all the negativity. Just leave it be Kim and have some fun again. We know what we have and if nobody else wants to enjoy it with us...so be it. Cheers for now.....Porgie go play with his kids.

The reason is that for once in your lives you may host a truly World event and South Africans are using the opportunity to highlight to the world just how dangerous your Country has become. Nerds like Porgie who lives in Korea and hasn't been in SA for 10 years should abandon their chicken run and go and have a look at the crime. Maybe he can even go to the relatives of the victims and tell them not to worry it is quite safe. The problem for some South Africans is that having come from being the pariahs of the World to a place of relative acceptance you are now paranoid when people tell the truth about your crime etc for fear you may return to your former status. Well tough because ordinary South Africans deserve to walk the streets and live in their homes safely and if it embarrasses you and your Government into doing something about it then it was all worth it.

Comrade Tony

Did you we have the same publicity when we hosted the cricket, rugby, African Games or the World Summit? Dunno, I was too busy throwing my spear and playing with my pet lion, Simba!
