Work Condition in Saudi Arabia?

  • Hi, I am getting an offer from Saudi Arabia. Job is in Management in multinational company. They are offering accommodation as well. Please I wish to know the Social/Public Life. Living Condition. I already have been to UAE (it was OK). have been to egypt (It was good), (I have been to Kenya (it was really good). in terms of free life, no restrictions on what we do, how we dress, how we work... I not Muslim. Please advise on it. Please suggest what would be my monthly expanse to live a good life i mean not very low; slightly higher than a budget family in Saudi Riyal if I stay with my wife.

    Dude me too form Asia, and answer to ur question,it is a good place to live..living cost in saudi is soo less.If ur individual u can suvive with 600-700 riyals for food .. pertrol itrs soo less. 1 riyal u get around 2 litries petrol.. as accomodation is provided bythe compnay u dont need to bother but for ur information i will tell 1 bedroom : 500 Riyals 2 Bed room flat :1200 Riyals 3 bed room 2000 riyals if u are in Khobar region u can take up multiple visa to bahrain just 30 minutes drive from here to take a bahrain visa its cost arounf 600 Riyals for 65 months Food Costs Bread items:2-4 riayls MIlk: 1 Riyals to 5 years non veg: 20 riyals max 1 kg chicken : 12 riyals snacks : 1 riayls -20 riyals (depends on what u take) travel its better u need a car.taxi is ok but they are some time not that good. I do live at eastern province in city these all are the life styles in here, Mc dowels,KFC,chick king are here Electronic items rates are so less for Example i phone its 2500 Riyals Washin machine 300 Riyals Dress Shoes 300 riaysl (branded exe shoes) can get form 50 riyals too shirts :15 riyals -300 riayls pants 40 riyals - 300 riaysl jeans 50 SR - 400SR watches 100- Riyals onwards Internet 100 riyals -1 gb unlimted 350 riayls -- mobile callling tarrif i think u can take up KSa fone ,,thats better www.ksafone.com if u have internet donwload that software in lap and u van get a rechage coupan for 30 riaysl where uc an use that for 380 minutes.. I take it you’re an American, from what I heard they put al the foreigners in concentration camps because they don’t want you to contaminate them with your Ideas and teach the general public freedom, and as far as night life the last one will be is when you leave your native country, and the next one will be when you get back, the money is good considering that nobody want to go there from the states, any ways the law says that 51% of the company belongs to the Royal family and 49 to the Americans, basically it’s your country’s company.

I'm American and have been in KSA for six mos. now, working at a hospital. You can't compare Saudi to any place you've ever been so. There is almost no personal freedom here. If your religion means a lot to you, don't come. If having a glass of wine means a lot to you, don't come. If you love eating pork/ham/bacon, don't come lol If nightlife/excitement mean a lot to you, don't come. You will, however, be able to save $$ due to no taxes and not having to pay rent/utilities and it is a lot easier for a married couple. The Saudis, in my opinion, are good people but the system here doesn't work (esp. difficult in Riyadh--life is easier in the east--Damman, Al Khobar--or west (Jeddah).
