Saudi Work Visa for a Hepatitis C carrier?

  • Hello all, I recently got a job offer from Saudi Arabia, however, I was diagnosed with Hep - C 6 years he disease was treated in Canada with peginterferon, so i am conifdent that it is gone. I recently did a blood test again and it came out positive. Apparently the reason for that is that Hep C shows up positive on the test results till 10 years after the disease has been treated. I can have a HCV RNA (quantitative) test done again to prove that the disease is gone. The question really is, would I get the work visa or not? thanks

  • Answer:

The answer is simple: when the blood test made at the medical exam comes up positive - no visa. Immigration will not dig into every "positive" case to find out why still diagnosed "pos" when treated already. The Gulf countries do not acknowledge any tests and their results made in foreign countries. Sorry.
