Is Saudi Arabia a dangerous place for British nationals?
-
I was just browsing there tourism web pages and was greeted with this lol From the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office: There are no travel restrictions in place in this travel advice for Saudi Arabia. All British nationals should continue to exercise vigilance, and check this advice on a regular basis. You should take all necessary steps to protect your safety and should make sure that you have confidence in your individual security arrangements. You should maintain a high level of vigilance, particularly in public places, and take sensible precautions for your safety and that of your vehicle. You should avoid any large gatherings or demonstrations. You should follow news reports and be alert to regional developments. Any increase in regional tension might affect travel advice.

Sounds to me: Britons are a bit paraoid:)) No offense please!

1. Most of that stuff is information that they give for every country. 2. The police or annoying but pretty much harmless if you understand what exactly the laws are. 3. They tell you to avoid the protests because you'd be arrested. Otherwise, Saudi is a really safe country (street crime, theft, and drug crime rates are among the lowest on Earth). An you can't go to Saudi for vacation, just religious trips or business.
