Whats better for a beginner a dirt bike or Atv?

  • Hi ive been wondering what i should get a dirt bike or atv, this is the first time im getting a motorized vehicle so im wondering which one is better for a beginner.thank you in advance please help me!

    In all honesty this has to be your call man. Whatever you fell safe enough on to ride but fear enough to respect is what you should get. In my personal opinion throttle and shifting is usually easier on a atv as they are usually thumb throttles that require no clutch to shift. On the other hand dirtbikes are twist throttles which along with a new rider attempting to use a clutch to shift can often lead to a whiskey throttle spill. I also know for sure depending on where you'll be riding a dirt bike is easier to manuver after a little practice than a atv as you can shift weight and bike and a atv will often roll or throw you if you're riding in a area where trees cause obstacles. All that said for me an atv was the place to learn and the bike ended up being my place to live, but we want you around as a rider so learn before you live.

An atv is definetely better for a beginner, but if you are looking for a challange, go for the bike like I did. They are way more mobile and versatile, plus fun to work on and upgrade. Oh and chicks dig them ;)

Actually a good beginner bike is a Honda Ruckus it is considered a scooter the engine size is between 50 cc ( if is under 50 cc in some states you don't need a motor cycle license) I have heard you can get a 150 cc engine in them. The possibilitys are endless as to what you can do to coustomise the ruckus another cool scooter I would recommend is a Genuine Buddy 125, 150, or 171I. The Genuine scooters come with a 2 year bumper to bumper waranty if anything at all goes wrong with them they will replace it.

Atv= 4 wheels meaning more maintenance and more on gas, more expensive but could be safer. bikes=2 wheels less maintenance, cheaper, less on gas. i recommend u start of on a bike because its easier to maintain less work and better to get to know motor bikes and its smaller.

Get a honda, yamaha or suzuki dirtbike. They are cheap to run, loads of fun, and essentially bullet-proof. Take loads of abuse and cheap to maintain. E.g. WR400, DRZ 400, XR 400, XR200 etc
