Can single women in moroccan cities go on dates in public with men before becoming engaged?

Do you actually believe that couples in Morocco get engaged after phone calls and emails only? Yes it is very common to date and go out. Some go as far as consuming the relationship. This is the reality. From a religious standpoint, getting to know the future spouse has to be done with certain rules and yes it does involve looking at and talking to the other party in person but no sexual relations obviously.

Yes it is normal. Morocco is catching up with times rapidly. It would be nice to think that all people follow Islam however, just how people in America do not act the same as they did in the 1950's the people of Morocco (the younger generation) are also breaking away from traditions. It happens every where in all cultures and countries. The social norms change with every generation, That is life, it is great that Morocco has held onto their traditions as long as it has but in reality it is almost 2010 the world is becoming more modern everywhere. All a person can do is raise their children the best they can and hope their children will carry on and install their beliefs and traditions into the next generation. This is just life, every culture faces these issues. For example when I was in high school there was one pregnant girl in my high school, and she actually married the man and have three kids now ( I found her on face book) Now it is A LOT different my friend works at WIC and she tells me about the pregnant 12 year old girls she sees. When I was in school there would have never been a pregnant 12 year old in middle school. This is happening on a global scale and there is nothing any one can do about it, this is the sad truth.

Unfortunately, yes, they do go out in dates with men without any relationship (legal one at least), & of course without the parents knowing that... Things has changed, parents are so concerned about life stuff to ask thier daughter "who have u been with ?", or likely every "father" thinks that his daughter is will raised & wouldn't do such thing!! poor dads... Nowadays even 15 years old girls go out with their dates, let alone the 25-30 women... & some idiots call that "freeing the Moroccan woman", just who are they kiddin exactley ?!!! theirselves ?! Islam wants to protect for the woman all her rights, they refuse the Policy of Islam & when they fall into trouble they blame Islam again !

Absolutely. How else would they know each other and avoid getting divorced? They date, they kiss, some have sex, others move in together. A lot of Moroccan men like to propose to their girlfriends, the whole getting on one knee thing. Edit: Why the thumbs down? everyone dates in Morocco, that's not new.
