What are the effects of colonization?

Positive and negative effects of colonization in morocco? please help!?

  • for french class i have to know positive and negative effects of french colonization in morocco ( in 1912) i cant find it anywhere!! thanks sooo much!!

  • Answer:

Morocco was NEVER a colony of France. It was a French protectorate not a colony. Some positives were economic growth, set up of transportation systems, and agricultural and mineral industry development. The negatives were the same in Morocco as anywhere else: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_negative_effects_of_colonization_by_European_in_the_different_parts_of_the_world Europeans didn't go to other countries to work with the people there - they went to enslave them and boss them around to promote their own economic wealth. Sort of what developed countries do now.

Talking about "positive" effects of colonization is only an attempt to wash the dirty hands and conscience of the colonizers grandchildren. If you have any integrity you'll come to this conclusion too, and you'll stand in class and say so.
