Is 2 days in Marrakech enough?

  • Due to my late night arrival and early morning depature, I only have two full days in Marrakech. Is this enough? I'm not planning to go anywhere outside of Marrakech, but I'm afraid I won't really get a true taste of Marrakech in that short amount of time. I have the option of paying around €100 extra for a flight which arrives a few hours earlier and departs Marrakech a few hours later, but I'm not sure wether it's worth it or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated! :)

    I spent 2 nights and one day in Marrakesh (stayed in Rabat for most of the stay) last week, i'm back in the UK now, and that was plenty enough. You will see the main square and the medinas, you will get all the flavour of the sound/smells/hustle and bustle from 2 days. I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Spend your extra dollars on treating yourself to a night in a Riad. It's a lovely country, lovely people and very cultural but Marrakesh itself is quite touristy. If you spend longer there, you'd want to go up into the mountains and do other stuff like that. You'll have a great time, enjoy it.

2 days is not enough time to get a sense of the people or their lives, as you will only meet the people who deal with tourists, (and they all have their little games and set speeches for the tourists.) But really, it depends upon what you want to do during your 2 days in Marrakech. Do you want to see the historic sites? do some shopping? (and if so, international boutiques or Moroccan artisanal shops?) Where will you be staying? How old are you? alone or with children? I can make a few recommendations if you email me this info.

In my opinion 2 days is enough in Marrakech....personally I wouldn't want to spend more that 2 days right in Marrakech. Boooooring.
