Is it safe to go to Lebanon at the current time?

• I am planning to go to visit family in Lebanon over the coming few days and am slightly concerned with the trouble in the north (at the palestinian camp), ever present threat of trouble in the south with Israel, and ongoing car bombs and assasinations in Beirut itself that my movement may be restricted and my safety may be jeopardised. My family say it should be fine but to them im sure all of this is relatively normal and low key!! I understand that much of the infrastructure of the south has not been re-built and travel is still restricted becuase of this. What kind of holiday can i expect to have - are pople still going out and able to have fun - and is it safe enough for me to go? Many Thanks

  Hey, im an american living in SOUTHERN lebanon, and yes i know what u r thinkin what is an american doin in SOUTH lebanon but down here it is very quite everything is normal because i live 8 kil from the border and all is quite :) but beirut is not really that safe i mean if u wait your whole life waiting for the bombings/killings/unsafeness your gonna wait your whole life. but if u stay up in the christan area, i would go there because nothing is happening up there but i would go to lebanon i would pay to have my family sent to me.
