Is it safe to go to lebanon this summer?

  • I would like to know from people who currently live in lebanon, if they think it is safe to go to lebanon this summer

    In spite of all the negative press given to Lebanon, it is really quite safe for visitors. Lebanese are by their very nature hospitable people and love to talk with visitors. I'm American and have been well treated no matter where I go in Lebanon - including areas where the Hizbollah hold sway. One important fact: keep an eye on the "Daily Star", the daily English language newspaper. It will give you a heads up of any demonstration that may go on. If you're not familiar with Lebanon or your location - best to avoid a demonstration. I am familiar with Beirut and the rest of the country - and can comfortably blend in in Lebanon. So I've seen the demonstrations - and actually enjoyed them. I went alone - and not a soul bothered me. The basic fact: Lebanese are good natured people and gregarious hosts and as long as your don't start preaching your political views to them, you'll most likely fall in love with the place.

i would advise u to go because i am lebanese who lives in england and i wanted to go to lebanon in feb but everybody advised me not to go but i made my mind and went there the first week of march and i didn't want to come back i was very happy there and felt as if there were nothing to worry about if u feel u want to go don't let anything stop u do what u feel

I'm Lebanese but not living in Lebanon at the moment but I'm going to visit it at simmer and i think that every think is ok bcoz my sis went from 2 weeks ago and she had a lot of fun and enjoyed her time and every thing was ok so i guess every thing is ok

No.Because it is too close to Iraq and if its hot you most definitely won't want to be caught in some stuff!!!!!!

yea, believe me when i tell you, it is safe, like if you go there and theres a war and you die, you will die even if you werent in leb, just depend on god and go, if anythin happens to you, its gonna happen whether in lebanon or not

No one can assure you whether it is safe or not. No location in the world is 100% safe. I am pesonally planning to go there during the summer! and it's up to you!

it could be depends where u go. beirut has lots of suicide bombings againt jews. dont go into jewish communitys or stay at jewish hotels
