Lebanon: Would you consider North Africans (Algerians, Moroccans, Tunisians etc) as Arabs?

• I'm half Lebanese half Palestinian and I went to Algeria over the summer cos my uncle lives there. When I went there I saw Algerians who looked arab, white, black, brown, mixed race so in appearance I would say the people generally looked like a mix of Arab, Southern European, and Black. Being of Lebanese and Palestinian descent I can speak both Levantine Arabic and standard fus'ha Arabic. When I was talking to the Algerians I found it hard to understand their Arabic dialect so they spoke to me in fus'ha. Since all these things are the case in Algeria, I think I would encounter the same things in other North African countries like Morocco and Tunisia because there basically the same people. Since North Africans are generally mixed and there Arabic dialect is hard to understand for the typical Arab middle easterner (Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian etc) would you consider North Africans arabs?

  I'm half Algerian and I consider Algerians arabs. We speak arabic, adopted the arab culture, live the arab lifestyle, eat arab food etc. But our origins are mixed from past invaders and ethnic groups who live in the country. I would say a typical Algerian would be mostly berber in origin with small amounts of Arab, European, and Black African admixture. @Berber Princess: I agree with you that Arabs are immigrants in Algeria and aren't the original people. But how can you say the Black Algerians are immigrants. Many ethnic groups living in Algeria (mostly the south) have large amounts of Sub-Saharan admixture. Examples are the tuareg, haratins, hausa etc. Aren't all those groups black? And how can you say Berbers are closer to Persians than Arabs. Persians are people from Iran. Maghreb countries in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) have no connection with Iran. We never got invaded by them. There completely different people and would rarely look similar to a typical Algerian or Moroccan. You shouldn't hate on arabs so much. At the end of the day were all muslims. And since your Berber I'm assuming your muslim. If it wasn't for those ''smelly ugly towelheads'' your calling Arabs then there would be no Islam in Algeria. There the one's who spread Islam to the world. And the prophet Mohamed pbuh was an Arab so if you hate arabs that means you hate the prophet pbuh.
