Is it safe to go to Bay Route, Lebanon?

Beirut is a spectacular city: 1) Its history is beyond amazing 2) The unofficial party capital of the world. 3) It was the Book Capital of the world last year! 4) It has different activities for people of all ages. I repeat, Beirut is currently safe, despite the news you have been hearing about our neighboring Arab countries and their political statuses.

My guess is that none of the above have ever been there .....I've been three times in the last 5 years & am about to go again. That whole region has a history of political unrest & worse but at the moment Lebanon is safe , calm & looking forward to the tourist season that will commence in a month or two. Great place to visit & as long as you use common sense , perfectly safe .

If you want to go there , you need to learn to spell it. Beirut. this city and all of Lebanon have been involved in civil war for years. there are frequent bombings and homicide bombers.

Ignore the first 2 answers. The civil war ended 21 years ago and there hasn't been any suicide bombing in decades! It's not very safe and was ranked by the NY Times as the best city in 2009.
