Is it safe to travel to Kenya right now?

I have a safari booked in two weeks. I really want to go been then I keep reading/hearing all these terrible things about traveling to Nairobi etc. I would love to see Africa but I would rather be safe then have fun. Any advice from people who live there or have been there recently please do tell. Thanks.
