How much are Kenya injections?

Im going to Kenya on June, will I be safe or shall I reconsider my trip to Kenya because of the recent situatio

  • I arrive to Kenya on June 26 and from Nairobi I start a Safari ending in South Africa, do you think the actual situation in Kenya will settle down by that date? Or should I reconsider my trip to Kenya and instead of start the trip in Kenya start it in Tanzania? Thank you very much for your advice. Happy New Year... Manuel (Mexico)

Of course one never knows if things will calm down in a country or spiral out of control. No one thought that Kenya would ever see this kind of tribal violence and yet now it is here. Having said that, the violence is limited in scope and to places where as a tourist you wouldn't be going anywhere near. Keep paying attention to the situation, but you should be fine. The link below is a good site to check periodically, although sometimes they do get a bit alarmist. Kenya and South Africa are truly beautiful, enjoy it and have a great time.

The State Department issued a statement today on Americans traveling to Kenya. The statement says that Americans are strongly urged not to go to Kenya and that this warning will expire on January 31st. However, I would expect that this warning will be renewed at least until the elections take place. I would keep checking the State Department's web-site as the date of your trip nears.

By then the post election turmoil will have died down. The new government will have settled in, and the people will be back on track. I'm going to Kenya in the summer, i'm certain i'll be fine.

I've spoken to friends on the ground in Kenya in the last few days. As a tourist you probably won't be in danger as you'll be in the posh parts of the city of Nairobi. Don't go into any of the slums, Don't go to Nairobi West, and try not to cross Moi Ave in Nairobi. Those are the "danger zones." Besides, they're arguing with only each other right now. Unless they start to turn against foreigners, you're fine. I'll give you some advice. Don't tell anybody you're a tourist. If you're able, pretend to be a student. Here's some basic swahili "Mimi si mtali. Ni Mwanafunzi." It means I'm not a tourist, I'm a student. People will back off a bit usually in that circumstance. As for pronounciation, it's all totally phoenetic. Your safari company will also have lots of tips to keep you safe. Kenya needs tourism now as it always has, please don't let your fear cause them even more damage.

Honestly, if you wanna go overseas, visit Australia. Friendly people, beautiful country. FYI: don't miss Ayers Rock!!

While I think we must not make more of the riots (at this moment) than they are, I would not book at this moment. First see if it cools down. Most parts of Kenya are quiet, with nothing happening, but why risk it? More information is at http://www.kenya-advisor.com/kenya-election-news.html best, Arjen

Lets put it this way, if you have a wife and kids then stay home. Otherwise prepare to be: hacked, blown up, shot, raped, raped again, spat on, stared out, poisoned, raped a third time and possibly forth, stripped down and raped for the fifth time, sniped, beaten and possibly stabbed
