How is the weather in israel in january?

Would you recommend to visit Israel?

  • I would like to have a 6 day break in January and visit Israel. Can somebody help me with the following: - is it safe? - how far is Tel Aviv from Jerusalem - is it true that once you get a stamp from Israel on your passport you are unable to enter any other middle east country (Morocco, for example) - is the weather good in January? (I am not expecting to be able to swim) Any recommandation on what to see? Thanks for your help!!

  • Answer:

"Would you recommend to visit Israel?" I would highly recommend it. It has many fascinating ancient and medieval sights as well as exciting modern cities. It has religious sights that are among the most important in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is the worldwide center of the Jewish religion and culture. And it is a country that is often in the news - it is good to visit it yourself and form your own opinions. "- is it safe?" Yes. Terrorist incidents are way down from a few years ago. "- how far is Tel Aviv from Jerusalem" 40 miles. "- is it true that once you get a stamp from Israel on your passport you are unable to enter any other middle east country (Morocco, for example)" Some Middle Eastern countries won't let you in with an Israeli passport stamp (Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Iran), but some will let you in (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates). I've heard that you can give the Israelis a card to attach to your passport, and then they will stamp the card in and out, so you can just remove the card from your passport afterwards. Some countries will issue you a new passport just for the purpose of being able to visit Israel. "- is the weather good in January? (I am not expecting to be able to swim)" Yes. "Any recommandation on what to see?" In 6 days, you will only have time for Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. 4 days Jerusalem and 2 days Tel Aviv. In Jerusalem, you should see the Dome of the Rock, Al Aqsa Mosque, Via Dolorosa, Wailing Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and just explore the old city. In Tel Aviv, don't miss the Diaspora Museum and Jaffa.

If you want my honest answer my dear friend, then, no. I am afraid this is not my cup of tea. http://www.visionofhumanity.org/gpi/results/rankings/2009/ Israel is rated number 4 among the top five most dangerous places on Earth. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1090160.html Next to Angola and Somalia. Hell YES! -It is safe & u will absolutely feel safe when you're there. I feel so much safer in Israel than in NY actually. -about 45 mins. away -not sure bout that one.. but I have family members who have been to Israel and also visited Egypt so I'd check that.. - The weather is great in January not too hot & not too cold - What to see... there's so much too see. Idk how old you are or what you're into but.. Tel Aviv has great nightlife. So many clubs and bars & the people are all rlly nice. Also the wall in Jerusalem of course.. and some museums and stuff I guess? I'm sure you're gonna have an amazing trip =) Don't listen to those against it.. they are probably just those people who are against the existence of Israel in general.

Compared to the "Allahu-Akbar" sh*tholes surrounding it, Israel should be a welcome paradise. Very welcoming and diverse country.

ok here we go so... 6 days is a short time... but better than nothing i guess. and yes! it's a good idea to go visit israel, it's always a good idea to visit places.. any places... to get the feel and to experience it by yourself. - is it safe? yes.. it's fairly safe lately. there haven't been major attacks recently ( a part of course inside the occupied territories and in east jerusalem. from what i know...i might forget a couple..but still close to gaza is less safe and in the OT it is not safe either to go. but otherwise yes it is safe lately and you can go without trouble to almost everywhere. - tel aviv is 63km away from jerusalem. take 1.5 hour to get there - regarding the stamp, yes it is true...not sure about morocco but syria for instance wouldn't let you in with an israeli stamp in your passport. but there is a trick around that. when you are entering and exiting israel ask them not to stamp your passport. if they did stamp it already, you can always get a new passport and start fresh. - weather in january is rather nice, it can rain sometimes but it's not as cold as in europe at the same time. in 6 days you won't have much time to see stuff... but then i would recommend you to check jerusalem (1 or 2 days seems to be enough, atmosphere is quite heavy there (in my opinion), and tel aviv of course, because it's fun and interesting. more info? message me in private. have a nice trip
