Is travel to Kenya safe?

Can anyone tell me if it is safe to travel to kenya?

    The last I heard from my parents who work in Zanzibar Tanzania, was that Kenya has closed her borders and that means that Nairobi (which has the biggest airport) is closed to tourists and outsiders...I don't know how accurate this is now though. Best is to ring up your consulate or embassy and find out.

Your not going until August, relax and definately DON'T listen to these alarmists that answered previously. Generally, Kenya is safe especially down at Diana Resort. Things are in turmoil now but will settle soon. Nairobi itself is safe as long as you aren't stupid. I am going to leave that up to your own research as to how to avoid being stupid but here are a couple of hints, dress like a backpacker and don't talk politics.

i have an uncle that just got back from kenya. it was easy for him to get in but he almost couldnt get back. there is a war going on over there and plains are having hard time getting in and out. so i would definatley wait.

It isn't safe to travel to anywhere in Africa! The sad thing to say is that Kenya is the good part of Africa! I would pick a different destination one more stable country to visit. Australia or may be India.
