I need info about Israel.

Need info on the Dead Sea in Israel. Can you help?

  • leaving for israel next week. guide books have been no use. my fourth trip there and i really want to see the part of the dead sea that has the mounds of salt and is the prettiest, most pictureque part. any advice?

    The mounds of salt are in the southern part of Dead Sea. There is an area there called "Ein Bokek" with several nice hotels there. But anywhere on the Dead Sea is nice. There are cheap guest houses around there (more in the northern part of the Dead Sea). Also there is a little resort called Ein Feshka (again northen part) where you can sweam in the pools of fresh water and enjoy great views of Dead Sea. The best beaches in my openion though are in Ein Bokek

The dead sea is about 500 m. under sea level and the only sea on the earth which nothing can exist in it . also there is a lot of hotels there , it is nice , real nice !

20 years ago I floated in the Dead Sea at Ein Gedi. It was an awesome experience in a beautiful place and was made even better by climing Massada Mount before dawn to watch the sunrise over the mountains of Jordan and the Dead Sea. Unforgettable and I wish I was there again.
