  • Answer:

i do. the boats had intent to cross the bloackade and ignored all Israels warning. if that doesnt give any reason to board a boat i dont know what does. and as soon as they landed the "peace activists" attacked with knives and pistols and the IDF was only defending itself and unfortunately 9 turks died and some Israelis were seriously hurt. and they found weapons in the Flotilla

Just tell me this: If an Israeli aid ship had been boarded in international waters and several of its citizens murdered, how would Israel have reacted? This was an act of piracy and murder.

Trimble? Watkins? Window dressing. Where are our 'international observers' on this? They either didn't observe, or didn't care, that the witnesses who testified were the shooters or other military. They obviously don't think those witnesses could have been, in any way, biased? "Biased" like the MK who was on board that vessel and who wasn't called to testify? Well, if that blockade is 'legal', then stopping and boarding ships, or sinking them, is 'legal'. Then it follows that killing nine people with gunfire has to be 'legal', too. Regrettable, but entirely 'legal'. And so sayeth the high judges of Israel. Wouldn't want to risk another UN report like Goldstone's? Israel has the 'right' to stop the Iranians from floating WMDs ashore at Gaza? I might buy that if the Iranians were trying to float anything ashore at Gaza. Or if the Gazans weren't otherwise engaged trying to stay alive in their over sized K Lager. It's a all a lie. Case closed, move on.

No of course not my friend. I don't agree with criminals investigating themselves. What Israel did in International Waters is piracy, and what Israel is doing in Gaza is clear violation of the International Law. Here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/19/world/middleeast/19nations.html -The Gaza Blockade Is Illegal and the Flotilla Attack Was an Illegal Act of War- http://www.alternet.org/story/147115/the_gaza_blockade_is_illegal_and_the_flotilla_attack_was_an_illegal_act_of_war?page=entire @American: What weapons my friend? These were only some kitchen tools. I have more weapons of mass destruction in my kitchen than found on board Marmara.

Petit

No. This was not an international enquiry. It was purely an Israeli enquiry, which is akin to the accused in a murder trial acting as judge, jury and all the witnesses. The UN's own enquiry last year, which was international, found that: "Israeli forces violated human rights and international humanitarian law during the 31 May incident involving a convoy of aid ships bound for Gaza, the United Nations Human Rights Council’s international, independent fact-finding mission has concluded. It betrayed an unacceptable level of brutality. Such conduct cannot be justified or condoned on security or any other grounds. It constituted grave violations of human rights law and international humanitarian law.”

I certainly do. Israel's military actions in capturing the Mavi Marmara were in accordance with international law, the land and naval blockades are legal and Israel IS a law abiding State who is able to examine oneself, and respects the international norms and rules.

You did not mention the fact that the international observers were approved by the UN. So, when these international observers agree with the conclusions of the Tirkel Commission that 1. the Israeli commandos acted with high respect to the human lives and opened fire only when their lives were put in danger by the "peaceful terrorists" of Mavi Marmara; 2. the interception of the ship which tried to break the naval blockade, which entered in the closed area and refused to change course was quite legitimate it means that the UN agrees with these conclusions. That Arabs do not agree with them...Did you expect something different? Arabs and Muslims in general agree with the UN only when its decisions faour Muslim interests. When these decision are against them, Muslims spit on the UN, International Law, Human Rights and on whatever.

Arturo

Of course I agree. The only thing I do not agree with is the excessive mildness Israeli soldiers and later Israeli courts treated these Turkish thugs. By the Law, our commandos had the right to shoot not only those nine bastards but all who attacked them, about 50 bandtis. Pity they did not do this. And, again by the law, Israel had the right to arrest all those on board and sentence them to the good sentence in jail. And the ship had to be confiscated.

RudeBoris

Sure. The conclusions are well argumentated and the international observers fully agree with them. Not that I needed more proofs that Israel was right; it was obvious from the beginning.

Y.K. Cherson

Since UN agreed, I do too. Not that I needed their approval
