Where is there a nice place to go for pesach near or in israel?

  • i'm in israel for the year and me and my friend both 18 yrs old would like to make this pesach a memorable one for around 700 dollars. is there place out there that we can travel to and enjoy a religious pesach for 700??

  • Answer:

Tourist options for the week of Pesach tend to be expensive. Look for the "Seder B'Nofesh" booklet that will be distributed in the coming weeks, from Feb. 27 (3rd of Adar). Contact these places to for advice about your options. http://www.ascentofsafed.com/cgi-bin/ascent.cgi?Name=Schedules&mode=print#apr Of course, there are many people here who would host you for the Seder. If you are currently in a study program or any type of framework, you can ask for help being set up with a family or a communal seder. There are places where you can help out as well as participate. Contact student organizations or Hineni http://www.hineni.org/calendar.asp for suggestions. By hooking up with a group, you'll do better than on your own. If you don't have contacts, try several local travel agencies. Many have arrangements with a few different sites. Also, try local online community grouplists. http://www.janglo.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=105989&Itemid=99999999 Deals can sometimes be found at institutions that rent themselves out for the holiday; they are certainly a bit cheaper than hotels, albeit less luxurious. ------ Here's another link to places that you might not know. (It's in Hebrew.) http://www.wheretogo.co.il/hebrew/hebchaggim/hebpesach.html Contact the guesthouse at Ramot Shapira. It's in a scenic moshav in the Jerusalem Corridor.

There will be many Seders throughout the Country; chances are that if you have some affiliation to an Orthodox group that you will be invited for free since it is a Jewish custom called "Kol Dikhfeen". It would be best to ask a rabbi with whom you are acquainted, even if he is not Orthodox. Eilat is a great place to be on Pesach.
