What is the most beautiful natural reserve in Lebanon?

What can be the consequences of the Syrian military occupation of Lebanon for Lebanon people?

  • Syrian tanks are going to enter the territory of Lebanon, in order, as the official version says," to protect it against the Zionist attack". Only a fool can take seriously that some 200 obsolete Syrian tanks can "defend" lebanon against 4000 merkawa III/IV, supported by the biggest military fleet of F-15/16 in the world after the USA. However, these tanks, if "rooted" 3 meters in the ground, are quite enough to detain Israelis for a couple of days and let the Syrians announce the total mobilization and send the regular army to Lebanon. That means that Syria is using Lebanon as a buffer area which will be sacrificed in order not to let Israel transfer the hostilities on the territory of Syria. In case of a serious war, Lebanon will suffer terrible damages, especially after Israel sent a warning that since Lebanon government accepted hezbollah as its part, Lebanon will be made responsible for any attack perpetrated by hezbollah against Israel. “The next war will lead to the elimination of the Lebanese military, the destruction of the national infrastructure, and intense suffering among the population,” wrote Giora Eiland, a former head of Israel’s National Security Council, in a 2008 paper. “There will be no recurrence of the situation where Beirut residents (not residing in the Dahiyeh quarter) go to the beach and cafes while Haifa residents sit in bomb shelters.” But Lebanon is nothing for Syria. Let the Lebanese die for Syrian president, Iranian mullahs- and the Iranian nuclear ambitions. Well, if the Lebanese agree...

My family lives in the Dahiyeh, and if we visit, we will be staying there, so I hope you guys keep out of that area please. ): I don't understand why Lebanon is acting soo foolishly, ok, be brave, but don't get us all killed. Wish Lebanon had more sense in the security of it's people. Edit: Yes, my family from my mom and dad's side live there. And it depends, if we stay with our grandma, we'll be in Ruwess, if with my Uncle, then in Hay El-Selum, and other places that I don't remember the names of. We'll probably alternate, so avoid those places in the Dahyeh!

May I point out that in the 2006 war there was "destruction of the national infrastructure and intense sufferering of the (Lebanese) population" - and a number of Lebanese soldiers were killed despite being innocent bystanders. All of which brought widespread condemnation of Israel and calls for intervention. What would worse behaviour bring? Some hotheads would have Israel facing sanctions and NATO intervention if they were allowed their way... In a week when Israel is facing increasing blowback from an ill-judged and incompetently-executed operation outside its borders, let us hope that wiser counsels prevail on this issue. Oh,and it's closer to 4750 "obsolete tanks",not forgetting those SA-22 "Greyhound" air defence systems - the Syrians have been rearming in recent years.
