How is life in Israel?

Questions about Aliyah and life in Israel?

  • I am a U.S. citizen thinking about making Aliyah, and I have some questions for anyone who has gone through the process, Israelis, or anyone who knows Israel intimately. What is the best age to make Aliyah? Should I finish college before moving, or go to college in Israel? How much Hebrew should I come with before Ulpan? Where in Israel should I settle as a young woman in her 20's? Should I stay with my extended family in Israel? If so, for how long? What are the requirements for me to teach English once I'm settled? What are your favorite aspects of Israeli society and life in Israel? What has been most challenging starting a life in Israel? Is there anything you would recommend I do to prepare for such a move? Is there anything you would have done differently? What is the secular dating scene like in Israel? Is it easier to find a job if you have served in the IDF? Name some of the best of Israeli pop culture :) (music, tv, movies, style, etc.) And also if anyone happens to know, If i have already begun college in the states, would I still be eligible to have free tuition in an Israeli University once I have made Aliyah? Thanks!
