Where is a good place to go in Israel?

Is israel a good place to go. ilike history any pointers?

  • Answer:

If you plan to visit, you better stay in East Jerusalem its very safe, avoid the West side its infested by pick pockets and thieves you can't buy anything from the West side prices are extremely high, you will enjoy the East Side of Jerusalem its safe the food is great and people are friendly! Let m recommend the Ambassador Hotel or the Meridian they both have very clean rooms and very reasonable prices and its where you will find all the history in the Old City of Jerusalem. Enjoy Palestine!

It is an excellent place to study Fascism in Action and the brute force of a police state.

if you like history then yes, if you like the future then no

At this time, Israel is very dangerous. The Israeli-Palestinian peace talks have been destroyed by a huge attack by Israel, and as such the Hamas will continue to bomb Israel.

A major war is taking shape so if you go you should perhaps decide in advance whose side you are on,because in a war zone there ieists little regard for professed neutrality.

I haven't been (yet... I'm going this summer) but my best friend is half Israeli so they go back to the kibbutz where her dad's family lives every summer. From what she's told me, it sounds like an amazing place. Delicious fresh produce, friendly people, HOT weather, and just a lot of stuff to do. The safety of being in Israel is a little iffy. Because the thing is, there really are so few Israelis or tourists who die from things bombs, etc. But as I'm sure you know, there is a huge fight going on between Israel and Gaza right now, and it seems like things are going downhill... peace talks have been called off. Who knows what will happen. We will have to wait and see... Of course for history it is a great place to be! There are so many important religious cities and places in Israel. I'm no expert, so I won't begin to try and tell you them, but google it and you'll find a lot of info. Shalom, Salaam EDIT - Think what you want about Israel, but it's not an apartheid country. It's also not committing a Holocaust against the Palestinians, and they are not trying to do an "ethnic cleansing" of all Palestinians in Israel. People can have opinions, but all of those are just not true! Look how many people died in the Holocaust, look how many people are dying right now in Darfur, look at the history of South Africa... then try and say that Israel is one of the above. I'm sure you can see from my answer that I am pro-Israel - yes, I am very much pro-Israel. However, I also support the creation of a Palestinian country as well. Israel has definitely made some huge mistakes - but you can't compare it to some of the most brutal parts in all of history.

For your first question, the answer is Yes. For your second question, I think you are not looking for history but for propaganda and I think you know exactly what you are going to here. People here can give you a lot of it. I am not going to say anything. Peace

Yes, a very good place to be. Regarding history, here is something you should know about Israel. Palestinian Arabs left their homes in 1947-48 for a variety of reasons. Thousands of wealthy Arabs left in anticipation of a war, thousands more responded to Arab leaders' calls to get out of the way of the advancing armies, a handful were expelled, but most simply fled to avoid being caught in the cross fire of a battle. Had the Arabs accepted the 1947 UN resolution, not a single Palestinian would have become a refugee and an independent Arab state would now exist beside Israel. The beginning of the Arab exodus can be traced to the weeks immediately following the announcement of the UN partition resolution. The first to leave were roughly 30,000 wealthy Arabs who anticipated the upcoming war and fled to neighboring Arab countries to await its end. Less affluent Arabs from the mixed cities of Palestine moved to all-Arab towns to stay with relatives or friends. All of those who left fully anticipated being able to return to their homes after an early Arab victory, as Palestinian nationalist Aref el-Aref explained in his history of the 1948 war: "The Arabs thought they would win in less than the twinkling of an eye and that it would take no more than a day or two from the time the Arab armies crossed the border until all the colonies were conquered and the enemy would throw down his arms and cast himself on their mercy." By the end of January 1948, the exodus was so alarming the Palestine Arab Higher Committee asked neighboring Arab countries to refuse visas to these refugees and to seal the borders against them. .

In the end I would suggest that you not get your information here. Most people on this board don't like Israel haha...
