Why is bullying so popular at school and is there something we can do?

If a bully was bullying you at school, will you recognize him as something other than just a bully?

  • So why does the people wait on us to recognize Israel other than just our occupier? I mean, if they dismantled the occupation, lifted the blockade, allowed the Palestinian refugees to return, started treating us fairly, gave us equal rights, and our basic human needs, then we will recognize them. But why recognize the Zionist state, when they can't find it in their heart to recognize our children's right to live in safety? When the bully at school recognizes the little guy as his fellow, and equal in humanity, and stops bullying him and imposing on him harsh abuse, then the student will recognize the bully's right to be friends and study and learn side by side. Palestinians are ready to recognize Israel as a legal state on their 1967 borders, but not an occupier next to a demilitarized state.

It sounds all conspiracy-crazy (and over-done to the point that it's cliche-ish) but I think it's the media. Americans watch news that would make your nails curl. Even CNN is absurd sometimes. God, you should have seen the cover of the Washington Post back in January during the attack on the Gazans. On the left side of the front page their was a Palestinian mother who had lost five children. On the right was a nearly equally sized picture of an Israeli woman who was "distressed" by the fighting. In the picture, the Palestinian woman cradled the dead body of one child. Another infant son, his face blackened and disfigured with bruises, cried beside her. The Israeli woman wasn't wounded in any way but also wept. I think that just epitomizes why Americans (and let's face it, theirs is the only opinion that counts) will never see Israel as the bully. My God, could you imagine an American newspaper putting up a picture of an ISRAELI woman who had lost 5 children, next to a picture of a Palestinian woman who was distressed by all the fighting? In doing so, implying that both sides were suffering equally? No way in HELL. And if they did, there would certainly be public outrage. So I think that's your answer. In America, Israel is ALWAYS "good" and "peaceful" and "dignified". Because that's what everyone keeps telling them. When an Israeli soldier dies, they show his pictures as a child, his graduation photos, his mother weeping at his very-dignified funeral. He is a PERSON with a life and hopes and dreams. When a Palestinian dies, they (at best) make the whole scene look barbaric. It doesn't invite sympathy. Also, any American who has the courage to speak up is aptly labelled 'anti-semitic'. And that can be pretty damn damaging to your career.

Bully...Shmully... The fact is that instead of running away, Arab population started to increase under this Bully, which means he is a Shmully...

damn right, i would recognize the fact, that this bully was gonna get an *** whopping, i would beat him like, i was his daddy,

goooooooooooooo

You have to ask yourself this then........why were the kibbutzim bullied and raided constantly prior to 1948.......they were just normal Palestinian Jewish farmers. Uri Davis who you claim is a palestinian Jew experienced this. Even Benny Morris whom you love claimed no Jewish attack occurred without arab initiative. Therefore the answer to your question is........if you started bullying.......and then get bullied back..........why is it wrong? "can't find it in their heart to recognize our children's right to live in safety?" Children of Sderot, Ashkelon and Ashdod are living in peace and harmony.......you are correct. Be honest.......you don't support a 2 state solution and how much do you actually read about this conflict other than the internet.......you did not even know who the shomrim were.......

I read something like this the other day, "why should we try and earn the same rights as our occupiers, why should we advocate equality for us and the ones who stole our land?" The Zionist state is above the rest of the world, you have to accept their conditions and rules, not the other way around.

Well, it is considered self-defense when the "bully" was being killed by missiles and bombs. I think that there is a difference between a provoked attack and an unprovoked attack.
