Where is a good place to go in Israel?

Is Tel Aviv the best place to go in Israel? Somebody help?

  • Hello...for those of you who don't remember me, I did ask a question here once concerning "Jews and Israeli Jews and Oriental people, culture, etc" like a few weeks ago. Anyway, so I've heard great things about Tel Aviv. How it's very multicultural and diverse and how it's a city that resembles New York City.. I've seen some YouTube videos and it looks amazing! Beautiful city! Can you guys help me learn more about the city and the people? Will I stand out? Are they nice? (yes on my previous question i mentioned i was a korean man)

  • Answer:

Well, if you have more specific questions, I might be able to go more in depth, but for now..... - You will stand somewhat out, as an Asian, in some areas, but people aren't going to care. Israelis actually like Asians, so it won't be awkward, at least. But mostly, Tel Aviv is a very much multicultural city, and Asians are by far not a rare sight. - Israelis are nice. I wouldn't worry about it: Israelis are genuinely nice people, I have found, and you shouldn't have a different experience.

New York is 24 hour city with tall buildings that runs seven days a week. Tel Aviv is a low-rise beach town that's shut down every seventh day. By Israeli standards it's 'open' because a few cafes and restaurants are open on Saturdays unlike the rest of Israel, but even villages in China have more shops open on Saturdays than Tel Aviv does. Tel Aviv is multi-cultural but not in a true sense. Most come from a few select parts of the world, mainly just Europe, New York, Yemen, and the middle-east. You don't get large communities of say Indians, Central Asians, East Asians, South Americans etc. like you would in say London, Berlin or Hong Kong. I'm not criticising Tel Aviv. I just think it's nowhere near as exciting as some people make it out to be. Jerusalem is a unique place though, there are few places in the world that can compare to it.

You will have fun in tel aviv. I'm sure about it. Your korean look won't change a thing, people will love to chat with you and hear why are you visiting tel aviv. I'm not sure if Tel aviv is the best place in israel because i prefer views over "big" cities. have fun tel aviv is the place to enjoy

I have never been to Israel but from what I have read its a modern swinging city with many clubs perhaps a little too modern as it does have many brothels and massage parlours . It has a good climate and from what I understand nice beaches. Israel as country is not my scene but if I had to go there I would pick Tel Aviv as the place to visit

You'll meet good and bad people anywheres you travel (There are good and bad people everywheres on the face of the earth).

Tel Av iv is the most modern, tolerant city in Israel. Extremely friendly, has a lot to offer in the way of modern history of Israel too. Which I personally consider more relevant than what happened 3000 years ago, but hey, you guys know me already. Visit Tel Aviv!
