You are in luck, you are a high school student so you are the right age to go on the Birthright program. (I'm assuming you are Jewish?) If you are it's a free program to introduce you to Israel. Take a look at the program and have a great trip!

If you choose to go on Birthright, it means that you cant go to Israel before that trip...Its one of the Birthright requirements. However, if you're willing to lay down a huge wad of dough, go on the NFTYEIE program. Its a 5 month exchange trip for highschool students. Look in to it www.NFTYEIE.org

Birthright is good, but you need to be at least 18, and pay for your airfare to NY; the rest is free; you can apply next April for Summer 2009. These are the high-school programs I was able to find: http://www.amhsi.com/hs/index.php http://www.aifl.org/html/web/people_edu_prog_CTSE.html I hope these are helpful... Good luck!!!!

Yes, borthright is the place to seach for your trip. But I think you are late because you had to apply for the summer trip in march. You should check it anyway. Maybe you can go in the winter or early fall.

Alex, Except for Local Machine (who is NEVER able to just answer a question,) you got all the correct information. Sincerely, Ms. Miche ; })

I have friends who have gone on the Alexander Muss High School in Israel trip. It is expensive, but according to the website they have scholarships available. You are there for 8 weeks living in dorms owned by the program (not sure exactly where, but if i remember right its somewhere in the south). It is a program for north american students so all classes are taught in english. There are also field trips a couple of times each week to the major places in Israel. Everyone who i've known who did it loved i. Also, what year are you in school? I found a program (can't remember what its called, but you can probably search if it interests you) where people finishing their junior year in high school can go to Israel and do scientific research for free. it is too late to apply for this year, but maybe for next year. JSU (jewish student union) sponsors a trip to israel that is a lot cheaper than other trips, but still kind of expensive. i think i is about $2500 for 4 weeks. If you are 18 you can do birthright, which is a free 10 day trip
