In your opinion, which European country is the closest and most loyal ally of Israel?

Why do some people say that Israel is anti-Muslim?

  • Okay, so before we start, just know that I myself am Muslim. Why is it that some people like to say that the U.S and Israel are anti-Islam? I for one support Israel more then I support Palestine. Currently, Palestine is being run by an extremist group called Hamas. They have no sense of diplomacy and all they do is send rockets into Israeli cities. Now if Palestine was still being run by Fatah (which are democratic), I would have more sympathy for Palestinians. But still, why can't some people recognize Israel's right to exist. As a Muslim, I must follow the Qur'an, and the Qur'an says that the Jews are allowed and have the right to live in Israel aka the land that God gave to the Jews. I also hate how some people say that Israel is anti-Islam. When, there are more then one million Muslims in Israel, when many Muslims are Knesset members and are at times ministers, when Israel gave Muslims control over the temple mount, and when mosques are allowed to be build. You simply can not say that a country is anti-Islam simply because it's at war with a Muslim country. Now the Israelis are not innocent, but at least you can share your opinion on the conflict unlike in Palestine where Hamas will persecute you if you support Israel. It's not the Israeli-Muslim conflict, it's the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (it used to be Israeli-Arab but most of the Arab countries had made peace with Israel). I swear it's really annoying. So what do you think of this.

  • Answer:

"Why do some people say that Israel is anti-Muslim?" Because the mean old Israelis won't let the Muslims take the Jewish Homeland away from the Jews and kill all the Jews that live there, as the Hamas Charter says are the goals of Hamas. That's why. [eta] "Incognito" said, "A muslim... defending jews... Thats a new one" Actually, no, it's not new. Frankly I do not believe a word you say. To me you sound like a typical Israeli Jew especially when you say "aka the land that God gave to the Jews." No true Muslim would ever write that. Remember the saying "You can fool some of the people some of the time but never fool all the people all of the time" There is a word for you A troll.

Wow, your attitude is really great! Sadly, it seems that the majority of Muslims regard Israel as anti-Muslim... I think it has a lot to do with prejudices and stereotypes. Both sides of the conflict should realize that.

Some say Israel is anti-Muslim because it helps further their goals. Others might be ignorant of the issue and may just say that it is because that's what they've been told. Israel really isn't anti-Muslim. Granted, there is tension in Israel, but still all things considered people get along just fine. At the very least, there is nothing that forbids a Muslim from finding happiness and fulfillment in Israel. As an American, I can say that many people might perceive the US as anti-Muslim because of our enemies at this current point in time. At least, our major ones, which happen to profess the Muslim faith. Of course, most Americans aren't fooled by thinking that these Muslims are similar to the ones normally found in the world (meaning, normal vs. extremist).

What do I think of this? I think the world needs more reasonable people like you. Israel itself isn't anti muslim, but like any society, there are extremists. And unfortunately, people tend to focus on Israel's extremists....

A muslim... defending jews... Thats a new one :)

There are people out there that equate Israel with Nazism so if they are already adopting such an extreme, beyond the pale of decency, position for them to assume that Israel is anti Muslim is not much of a stretch for them. After all, they believe many things about Israel that are not true... what's one more? As an aside, I wouldn't characterize Fatah as democratic, more like a moderate Hamas. There is a reason why Fatah is willing to form a union with Hamas.

I agree.

You are right, Israel is not necessarily anti-Muslim per se. It is against anybody who stands up and says "what you are doing is wrong, you are taking peoples land and treating them like second class citizens in a decades long occupation". Many Palestinians are Christian, and they face the same road blocks and restrictions as Muslims. Some live in refugee camps alongside their Muslim neighbours. It wouldn't matter if Palestinians were Sikh, Shinto, Buddhist, Hindhu- the result would be the same. Perhaps if they were ALL Christian, the west might take a different view, but anything else, I believe the result would be identical. Resisting an occupier is not limited to Islam.
