Why can't jews have their OWN land?

Agree or disagree: Arabs have equal rights in the promised land as the Jews do?

  • Jews are the sons of Isaac Arabs are the sons of Ishmael Isaac and Ishmael were the sons of Abraham In Genesis 15( 18-21) God promised the sons of Abraham the land Genesis 15:18-21 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates - the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites." Why do the Jews deny the Arabs their rights in the promiised land then?

  • Answer:

I totall agree that they both should have the right to be there as do christians. But obvioiusly from some comments above me, SOME jews disagree. I mean, yes they should have equal rights to the land, but really are palestinians given it?

You are not telling the whole story...... Read Exodus 19 3 Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4 ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations YOU (Jews) will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 YOU [a] will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” This is about JEWS ! Only JEWS !

I agree that all people living in the promised land should have equal rights. Jews don't deny Arabs their rights. When Israel was founded, Arabs were welcomed to stay on as full citizens. Arab Israelis have the same rights as Jewish Israelis or any other Israelis. The Arab-Israeli war occurred because many Arabs at the time did now want Jews to have equal rights with Arabs. This is also the case with the Israel-Palestine conflict. The militants of West Bank and Gaza do not want Jews to have normal rights in Israel. They believe the land Israel encompasses should be ruled by Arabs and the Jews expelled, just as they have been expelled from Gaza.

Seems like in Israel they have more and more rights than in Arab countries, hence most arab-israelis would prefer to live in Israel - isn't it ironic? So yes - they have their rights, and I think they even deserve those basical rights they would be denied in countries such Syria, Iraq and Palestinian territories -too. BUT I would like them to have their OWN country with their own laws in the 1967 borders. I'm pro a two-states solution where Jews live in Israel and Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza (Palestine).

The problem I see here is that you are an anti Israel person who is using the Bible as an "argument". Why is this a problem? Because, if there is a Biblical argument as to why the land belongs to the Jewish people, then as an anti Israel person, you would then dismiss that argument on the basis that Biblical arguments are not applicable. Yet here you are, trying to make a Biblical argument in your favour. In other words, you are merely mining the Bible for your own purposes. As further proof to that, if we follow your argument as presented here, you are trying to argue that the land belongs to all of the children of Abraham, i.e. both Jews and Arabs. Yet later on, you refer to it as "Palestinian land". But, according to the argument, it isn't "Palestinian land". Its "Arab and Jewish land". In other words, your own words contradict your stated viewpoint. And here is something else to consider: What exactly does "equal rights in the land" actually mean? Does it mean "allowed to live there"? Or, "have a right to their own state"?

Arabs have rights on Palestine only until they do not deny the rights of the Jews on it. As soon as they say " we are palestinians, and you Jews are settlers /Khazars/invaders/occupants..., so get the hell out" - all the rights of Arabs on Palestine end. And as soon as the stupidities like "50/50 share is not fair that way. It should be 300 Arabs : 6 Jews ratio" begin - the rights of Arabs end, and even the ratio 999,999 for Jews and 0,001 for Arabs seems unfair to me.

If you mean politically in today's society, Arabs already do have equal rights. If you mean Biblically, you are quoting one portion of the Bible but need to keep reading. If you continue reading it says that the blessings, including Israel that G-d gives go to Abraham's descendants through Isaac, not Ishmael. However, because Ishmael is Abraham's son as well, he gets some other blessings.

Arabs do NOT enjoy equal rights like Jews. It doesn't need any political or religious discussion to know that. The first unequal treatment a Palestinian will receive is when arriving at Ben Gurion Airport. Jews are allowed to enter Israel, a Palestinian will be deported to Jordan. And guess what, he even LIVES in Jerusalem! The list of unequal treatment is endless.

sure here is the deal: arabs got the area from the euphrates to the jordan river. jews got the area from the jordan river to the sea. also arabs got the Nile which is the river of egypt. turns out that arabs got most of the land.
