Should Jewish Rabbis meddle in purely internal affairs of the Catholic Church?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/19/us-jews-pope-anti-semitism-idUSTRE79I5TF20111019 The link is an old but still relevant. It appears that some Jews are trying to influence the Catholic Church on how it should carry out its own affairs. Why do they oppose the attempts of the Church to take back into the fold the members of the SPPX? The Vatican's move is a positive one and will lead to unity. So long as these conservative Christians do not hold any heretical teachings, and that they are willing to be under the jurisdiction of the pope, then there is no reason why they should be denied acceptance into the Church. Being anti-semitic according to Jewish/zionist definition (which may be different from the Church's definition) should not be an impediment to their full communion with the Vatican. Shouldn't these non-Christians leave the Catholic Church alone with their internal affairs?

Answer:
I am Catholic and I have avoided going to the services of the SPPX or SSPX (Society of St, Pius X) since Pope John Paul II excommunicated Bishop Lefevbre and the bishops he ordained illigitimately. But Pope Benedict XVI has lifted the excommunication on the bishops that were ordained by Lefevbre in a gesture of welcoming them into full communion with the Church. The pope also have brought back the Latin mass. I am happy that the pope is reaching out to our brothers in faith. It is a good thing that Pope Benedict XVI is not listening to the Zionists and continues to try to reconcile with the conservative society. We Catholics look forward to the return of the SSPX and of other traditionalists into full communion. We also look forward to the return of the Orthodox Churches and Protestants. Catholics should not allow non-Catholic Zionists to prevent Christian unity. I agree with you that Zionist's perceived antisemitism of the SSPX should not be an issue. I do not see why charges of antisemitism should prevent unity. What matters is whether they would accept the authority of the pope and the validity of Vatican II.

It's not a purely internal affair when it concerns another group. Tell them to keep their lies about Jews to themselves and only THEN will it be an internal Catholic matter.
Q
The founder of SSPX, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, was excommunicated in 1988 after consecrating four bishops without Vatican consent. He was not excommunicated for rejection of any dogma. Antisemitism was never a factor in his excommunication...hence antisemitism should not be a factor for the lifting of excommunication. Charges of antisemitsm is easily thrown at people for not agreeing with the Jews or Israel. A person who criticizes Israel for its actions against the Palestinian civilian population, is easily labeled antisemite.

The important thing is that the Pope Benedict XVI is ignoring the Rabbis' whining. As a Catholic, I support the pope's move towards reconcilliation.

What/who the heck were/are the "SPPX"?

Jewish Rabbis, and anybody else for that matter, have every right to express their opinions and make requests, especially in matters that affect them or those they serve. The Catholic Church is not bound to do what anybody else wants it to. But the Catholic Church IS bound by charity and holiness as well as reason, to listen to reasonable and moral points of view, and change its position if warranted. I am a Catholic, and I know that the Catholic Church places a high value on Reason, although it has no monopoly on it.

Anyone who's that anti-Semitic doesn't deserve to be Catholic. Here's the first few paragraphs for sane people: European rabbis and Holocaust survivors in the United States urged the Vatican Wednesday to suspend unity talks with ultra-traditionalist Catholics until their movement pledged to renounce anti-Semitic members in its ranks. The Conference of European Rabbis said Bishop Richard Williamson, already known for publicly denying the Holocaust, and the head of the splinter group in France had recently revived the age-old accusation that Jews killed Jesus. The American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants said Williamson repeated the charge of collective Jewish guilt for Jesus's death despite Pope Benedict's recent reaffirmation that the Church rejected that charge. "We call upon the Catholic Church to suspend negotiations with extremist Catholic tendencies until it is clear that these groups show a clear commitment to tackling anti-Semitism within their ranks," said Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, whose group represents chief rabbis and top rabbinical judges in Europe.

The pope should not give in to pressure coming from those Rabbis. Jews have np right to tell the pope what to do.

They are not interfering, they are fostering good ties between both religions

I am fine with Jewish rabbis. Jesus was a Jew. We still get along.
