How does Israel treat the Palestinians?

For those who say Israel doesn't treat Palestinians properly: What rights do Palestinian women have under?

  • Sharia law in Gaza For Example They can't go out in public unless their face is completely covered (only 2 eye holes allowed) even in the steaming hot summer

  • Answer:

I'm not sure it's that bad in Gaza; however, I have read that a lot of things are restricted in Gaza. I'm not even completely sure it's illegal to go without a headscarf there; though, it does seem like harassment would follow those women who forgo it. Actually, I seem to recall that female lawyers have to wear it, so make of that as you will. I know that women do have some restrictions as per the law there, and I want to say that some such as riding a motorcycle and smoking are forbidden legally. One thing that makes 0 sense to me is why they can't have their hair cut by men. Socially, I'm aware that it's far outside the question, as are many things which would make women here pick up arms and protest. Though, while people complain about Hamas' treatment of women irregardless of their position on Israel (it's irrelevant, really), I have to say that it's FAR worse to be Christian and/or Gay there. Life-threatening, it seems. More for the homosexual, of course, but it seems that Christians aren't truly welcome. And forget about implementing even some ideas that were liberal maybe at the turn of the last century. Basically, I find it really sad that people, for the sake of the Palestinian cause, ignore some of the Hamas based atrocities. Ideally, even if Israel was so bad, it doesn't excuse the fact that many Arab Israelis would miss the freedom they had under them, I think. At least, get the idea that they might not like Hamas control. Really, I judge them by the fact that I would hate to live under them.

Palestinian Women in Gaza have a right to live like a slave to their husband

Neither Gaza nor West Bank is under Sharia law. Hamas is no picnic which is why Israel supported them in fighting the Palestinian Authority. But basically your saying that Israel can mistreat Palestinians because others do too? So how many in your primary class? When do they get to the lesson that it's not okay to mistreat people just because others do too. Bet you didn't know that Palestine was originally supposed to be ONE secular, representational democracy. This was unacceptable to the Zionists who immediately launched terrorist attacks against the Palestinians and the British.

So you are saying that because Gaza is ruled by Islamist extremists, it is OK for Israel to oppress Palestinians.

It's been a tradition among our Jewish friends to keep their women inside the house and even when they are about to perform their marital duties they use a bed sheet with a tiny small hole, exactly in the centre of it. I suppose, according to their Asian Jewish law, a man must not touch the bare skin of a woman. These are not my words my friend. They belong to this Jewish writer http://www.amazon.com/Hole-Sheet-Orthodox-Hasidic-Judaism/dp/081840437X Thank you for sharing Greetings

What they teach you there in Israel is not true my friend. Women in Gaza are not forced to cover their faces, and they are not under Sharia law. But I don't know why would anyone try to invent such stupid lie. If Hamas really does what you said, how does that prove Israel's innocence? @curious1 http://palestinechronicle.com/view_article_details.php?id=16482

I can not find the agree or dis agree part of the question.......in a charles QUES. .....MARKS ans...... Any way .....What right do Muslim women have in France.......or Britain......or Germany......Australia......Canada....et… of Muslim women CHOOSE to cover their face completely with only 2 holes and there is NO sharia law in those countries. Why would 99% of Afaghani women STILL wearing their face cover, with a smaller 2 holes than the women in Gaza enjoy, after more than 12 years of FREEDOM fom the Sharia law.......think about it.....There no harm in thinking.........Unless you are not allowed to think in israel after they brain washed you. ........... Go back to your hole.

Really the 2 are not connected. However, although the women in gaza do not have to cover up so much, they are not allowed to go to cafes or restaurants or shopping without being accompanied by a male family member. Having said that, and judging by the way arab women defend this, they dont seem to mind. Perhaps they know no different, or are too scared to express their unhappiness, or maybe they like it. Who knows. On top of that to the Palestinians, they are only women, so no big deal. I will say this though, i find it very hypocritical that one would expect a stranger to treat your family better than you treat your own family. This is the main problem with arabs... they dont have respect for human life, not their own ( hence the martyr being the ultimate in heroism) and therefore they would have even less respect for anyone elses life.

LIES You have Christian Palestinians in Gaza, 2000. What would you say about them? Plus most Palestinian Muslim girls I've seen on TV from Gaza wear the scarfs that just cover your hair not face. Why do you lie?
