Your Christmas wishes?

Jews, how do you respond when someone wishes you a Merry Christmas?

  • People say it to me every year. When I was little I used to say back "No, you have a merry christmas" and would really draw out all the words. What do you say when someone wishes you a merry christmas? (someone who doesn't really know you or not know that you're Jewish)

  • Answer:

When someone wishes me a Merry Christmas, I smile and wish them the same. After all, it is a friendly gesture!

Yeah, I wish them a Merry Christmas. No need to correct a random act of kindness :)

just be nice and say marry christmas to them, to not be rude. its not their fault.

I usually respond with " and a happy new year". Depending on the person, I would also remind them that I'm Jewish, but I would remind them that I'm not offended or anything, and give them a smile.

Be nice back and wish them the same.

Just return the greeting and wish them a happy new year; make a Kiddush Hashem.

Debbie
