What to do on Christmas Eve in Munich?

How many Muslims in Egypt attended Christmas eve services?

  • I did a little experiment yesterday. I informed all of my Muslim friends in Egypt who were saying they stood in solidarity with Christians and saw themselves as one to attend Christmas Eve services at any local church. In one of the local papers last week the priests were saying the churches were open and welcomed anyone, even Muslims for their Christmas eve services. I saw a lot of people changing their pictures on Facebook to show the crescent and the cross, having statuses that said they stood in solidarity with Christians but I could not find one single person willing to do it in action, get a group of friends and attend Christmas Eve services. What does that mean? Busy? Big talk but no action? In denial or plain ole' hypocrisy? Sure, simply attending Christmas eve services doesn't necessarily make you in solidarity with Christians, but other than talking, I'm wondering what the average Egyptian Muslim is doing to mend broken fences in Egypt between the two religions which DO exist (but most deny). From a sociology point of view, people find it easy to say a lot but when it comes time for them to DO something, very few follow through on that. The proof, as some say, is in the pudding. From the experiment I did and from the results I'd say the proof isn't very pretty. So, I wonder, how many Muslims did attend Christmas Eve services and how many would be WILLING to do so? Why or why not?

  • Answer:

Well, What is the point of muslims going to Churchs anways? Their duty is to just congraulate them on their festivals and share their happiness, but they are not obliged o go to the churches with them. Do Christians come to the mosques with muslims in their Eid? No. Everyone should do their own routines and traditions. Agree? :)

Zero, my friend Mina told me there is a lot of police encircling the Church and they only let Christians in, so I didn't go. Many people(Muslims) wanted to go, but the conditions were not suitable.

As for me .. I didn't attend ..I never said I was going to attend ..

Good point...I have said it over & over again , until Muslim people are prepared to get out of their comfort zone & let those driving this agenda of power domination , hatred & conquest know that the vast majority not only disagree , but more importantly , WON'T TOLERATE this sort of teaching & behaviour , we are going to see more & more of this ... Coptic Churches here in Australia have now been threatened ...by whom ? Why ? Australia is one of the most open & tolerant societies on earth ..no religious discrimination ...freedom to worship & proselytize ...yet STILL these sorts of violent , religiously targeted threats are made ...WHY ? That one violent event in Alex has had impact around the world , as it was meant to..the decision Muslim people now have to make is whether or not these vicious bastards are going to speak for you all ,or not....YOUR CHOICE !

Egyptians are known for too much talk .. well, anyways ... Churches were full with Christians , and hardly could fit any more people. we had to stuff the people in the hallway outside the church here where i live. :)

They're not letting Muslims go in. I heard they're only letting them in Zamalek.

Well ... I would be really a great idea. However, Muslims wouldn't do that. The reason could be that they might be intimidated by churches, as Christians might be intimidated by mosques. Imagine a Muslim picturing a place he has never entered. He might have heard some rumors of Christians doing weird things in the churches or something. Let alone that he would feel out of place, because he can't really figure out what's going on. So, Muslims are not to be blamed, because it's a normal action. I have never seem Muslims very considerate and caring for Christians like nowadays. It's really touching.
