What does an amulet do , how does it work?

Where do you buy amulets. What does a amulet look like? What has an amulet done for you? Thankyou
-
Answer:
Amulets are talismans, symbols or good luck charms. Whether you actually believe in what they do it up to you. I was given a beautiful crescent moon and star with a diamond in it for my birthday yesterday by my husband. I had to keep it and not open it until yesterday even though I brought it with me from Egypt to Australia. The crescent moon and star is the Islamic symbol and I will wear it to remind me of my love for Islam and my husband. Whether some people approve or not I really don't care. I also wear a gold ankh, which is the ancient Egyptian symbol of life. I wear the ankh because I am an Egyptologist and love Egypt and everything Egyptian.

BOTH MENTIONED AND BROUGHTFORTH ARE JEWISH AND MUSLIM A Hamsa is an amulet This ancient symbol, most commonly known as the Hamsa or Hamesh hand, is used as a protective amulet by both Jews and Muslims. The name hamsa is derived from the Semitic root meaning "five." The hand symbol is called the Hand of Fatima by Muslims, named for the daughter of Mohammed, and is sometimes said to symbolize the five pillars or tenets of Islam. In Jewish use, it is sometimes called the hand of Miriam, after the biblical heroine. All seeing eye The protective all-seeing eye wall hanger is from Egypt. About 2" x 4" in size, it is made of stamped silvery-coloured metal covered with a transparent wash of bright blue enamel paint that gives it a lovely "dimensional" effect. It is fitted with a silvery-coloured metal chain and a bunch of little "danglers" for added protection. It can be hung in a car from the rear-view mirror or on a wall at home, either near the door or over a baby's bed, where it will ward off the evil eye. The back is unpainted; if it is to be hung where it can be seen from both sides, glue two together back-to-back; they fit together perfectly. The maker of these all-seeing eyes also makes a similar stamped metal hamsa hand wall hanger. Amulets are forbidden in Islam...they are from the times of idol worship...which people think is past, but just see how many people check their horoscopes etc. Trusting in Anything but Allah(swt) is the wrong way. U reallllly think a peice of stone or wood can do anything for you??? I never cease to be amazed by the ignorance show in this area of Y/A....but only for the sake of Allah(swt) do i continue to try and show people the errors of their ways....Displaying a verse of the quran is Not an amulet. It is the words of Allah(swt) which is different entirely than some stone or flower or piece of wood or what have you. Displaying the "hand of Fatima" is a talisman, and it is forbidden..... Islam has No 'offcial' symbol..the hilal or crescent moon was adopted much after the time of the prophet(saws) it in and of itself is not forbidden as it is known it cant do anything. If it reminds someone of Islam...fine...but its not a charm...in the sense that the person is speaking about....to wear any symbol of pagans is strictly forbidden...its the same as wearing a star of David (as) or a cross etc...

Amulets are symbols, talismans or tokens that have a significant meaning or association linking the wearer to something or someone. The Christians wear a cross or crucifix around their neck or even have it as in some form in their homes and they can of course be seen at churches. The cross is symbolises of the belief that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected to be with his father in heaven. The Muslims may wear a crescent moon with a star or even the name of Allah as a ring or pendent. The name of Allah is also often found in the form of a wall hanging in many Muslim homes. Jewish people use the star of David to identify their belief it is sometimes called Solomons seal. There is also the 5 pointed star which when worn with the 2 points up means the person is connected to the black arts in some way or would like to think so and when worn the other way is the Wicca sign or smybol. I wear my army dog tags not only for i.d. purposes but as a good luck token for they have been with me though some pretty scarey moments in Afghanistan and the Gulf. Anything can be an amulet or talisman even a shell you find on a great day at the beach or a rock that you keep in your pocket. So long as it has some symbolisim attached to it by you the wearer or person who has it in your home.
