Well,, this is a very difficult Question...for many reasons , but In my opinion ,, the Freedom is to do what you want to do, as long as what you do is not affecting on others...It is funny that most what you mentioned are affecting on others,, so those have to be regulated (not to affect on others) ...why i said it is funny, because that is accept for the (freedom of religion or no religion) IT IS SOMETHING completely between the person and (his/her) Creator.. No one should , or no (regulations) should be put on that....and the correct (Islam/Christianity...etc) state that ,,I am sure... God Himself left that to the human , to believe , not to believe ,, otherwise He would create us as Angels,, not Human...And when you have the freedom to believe You really believe...simply... of course My opinion is not workable in most of the middle east,,,,, why? because the oldest and (only) culture they used (and still have ) is the culture of words (yes they were very famous of poem... and speeches)... and when people talk a lot they have to talk about (someone) and they have to attack...Bottom line the ME culture+ the ignorance lead to interfering in other people lives.. if people were not losers,, they would not have time even to care what others are doing..but people in the ME are like its architecture ,, the buildings (and that resemble its people) are sticking to each others without the (social ) necessary space,, In the mean time , I can not generalize,,, but indeed huge portion of the people are sticky/sticking to others,,plus of course being losers.. Sorry to be honest,,,, but i am really old to lie...

Yes with all you just said. Most western countries are more peaceful because of those freedoms

It has lines and limits. First limit is personal, when you cross that limit you are in the small group or family range. If you cross that limit or line, you are in the community range or limit. Then so on till it's a state or a country that cross borders to other countries and may be a planet crossing to space and other planets. The most free range is the personal range where you can love, hate, wish, dress or undress. When someone else from your family or partner is related or found, you are in the 2nd range with less freedom as you affect others. and so on when you go out in the street, then if you appear on TV or public crowds. The more you can affect others, the less you can be free to do whatever you like. Edit:It raises the question of who is more free than the other? The student or the teacher. I guess the student is more free while the teacher is not free to act in a certain way as he affect the class while 1 student can't affect the teacher.

Wise Heart

to feel independent. To do whatever u want and know that nobody will judge you. To know that this is your right, and to acknowledge other people's right to do the same.

All of what you said except "freedom to wear whatever one wishes". Also I'd add "freedom in media" but to a certain point.

this is an extemely important and interesting question. lets address each one. freedom of expression. if you read the answers on this site and if you look at islam you can see that this can never be. there are so many rules within islam which will quash this. so many subjects are taboo and will continue to be taboo. so freedom of expression is impossible. freedom of religion or no religion. unfortunately this is impossible in egypt too. islam is the way and people who step out of what is deemed within the ritual and acceptable practice will still be ostracized. freedom of education.... fingers crossed maybe there is a chance for this one. i hope so. freedom to work where you want regardless of gender... NOT going to happen. again islam will not allow this. freedom to wear what one wishes... yes for men, no for women. freedom to live ones life.... not going to happen. so apart from education i cannot see anything changing. all of the riots will amount to nothing.
