What Is The Most Common Place In Egypt?

In Egypt, what type of health care system is in place? Public/social or private?

• If it is private health care, would it be unaffordable for a girl who has no insurance to seek medical care? What would be the average price range for a hospital emergency room visit be? (If private) Is there any sort of government funded medical assistance program in Egypt similar to the the Medicaid benefit of America which provides a way for impoverished citizens to have access to health care?

  I dont know what they call it, but i do know you have to pay for it. My advice would be to get medical insurance while living there, because as a foreigner you will be expected to pay full charge. Even the 'poor' Egyptians have to pay, i've seen that with my husbands family. One of my English friends ended up in Luxor International Hospital, after we found her on the floor of her flat one day, she'd had a heart attack & lucky i'm a first aider, so i knew what had happened. She only stayed a couple of days in hospital because she couldn't afford it, & then my hubby & i had to loan her the money. Sorry i dont remember what it cost, i think we loaned her around LE12000. I came home to England when i was ill, i knew it was free for me on the NHS.
