What does Salient environmental mean in tourism?

Misr: Does tourism mean you could do anything?

  • I wanted to know what everyone of you think of this question: Do you believe that just because people go visit Egypt (tourists) they are allowed to do w/e they want? In other words, do you think that for example a woman could be naked at the beach? Would this be allowed because she is a tourist? I never saw any logic in this. I view it as sort of prostitute-like in which one wants money no matter what, even if they get violated. Egypt's culture and religion gets violated, does it not? What do you think?

  • Answer:

Man you are just GREAT!!! Seriously i love your question and how you handled the details, beautiful!! People tend to think that freedom means ability to do whatever they want, unbound to any red-lines or boundaries and now we are scared to bits to issue any laws that ban liquor,or beach nudity (like in Hurghada for example!!) and others like clubs (pole dancers) and stuff like that, like seriously we have no identity whatsoever, whatever showers cash we are in for, this is just so distressful and awkward and is driving our society to it's moral doom and it's not just the resorts areas, we are now quite renowned for dirty brothels and discos in El Haram street and other filthy activities in Gam3et El dewal, like where is the government from all this, our religion and conservative culture are violated on daily basis and it's all for the sake of tourism =S Allah yel3an abo el fasad 3al fasdeen ya Rab kollohom yewla3o b gas wese5 zayyohom!!!

no!!! ya3ni is it their country or ours? and they should abide by our rules and follow the norm, not do whatshe wants cuz its allowed in her country just like how an Egyptian cant come to say like Australia and drive on the left only cuz their a tourist no excuse for breaking the law mate

Oh dear God , this is like the best question ever asked on Y!A .. (Y) And on big fat NO .. i hate it how we can not handle this issue , or to be more exact , those security guys who are placed there and supposedly for protecting what has to do with social decency .. dol aslan ma7romeen! .. 7ata law there are rules as for not allowing any lady to walk around topless , he won't tell her a thing ! , now here comes our lack of stability and Egyptian Muslim Pride .. even if we dont wanna accept it , but we are controlled by them to some extent , its like e7na eli mashyeen wara their rules mesh homa wara ours .. and one big example for this is how spoiled girls started to be after seeing those stupid slu*ts in hurgada and sharm etc ... kol wa7da tshoflaha ma3rfsh eh and then she starts do it herself forgetting that Omg she deviated from the oh so muslim line she was walking through .. Its highly depressing knowing that those girls actually think they are oh so open minded whereas they are just copying some other crappy spoiled skunks creating a fake degrading copy of the european/american atheists .. In hurgada i saw a restaurant or two that had on the entrance met3ala2 " please do not enter in swim suits " ... or 7aga keda , w da5alt gowa and i found those girls wearing hot shorts and 5 cm moraba3 top that covered i dont know what .. but come on its not swim suit ! so basically el fekra is not to enter in swim suits .. mesh not to wear revealing clothes ! .. .. and to be completely honest whenever i see something extravagant i just go and tell them , and this happened recently lama **** f hurgada .. wa7da gat a3det fl reception wearing a 1/2 thong and upper part .. really everything was showing ... i found myself ridiculous but i just walked up to her w oltelha kelmten , and as usual she gave me the " whats your problem " reply .. yea well thats my favorite part , i LOVE saying whats my problem .. if you wanna tan ya5ti , eb2i tanny f balaconet betko w e2la3y zay manti 3ayza .. laken we are not forced to see all your private parts enti weli zayek .. and if you think that this is ethical or socially accepted then you are in serious need of reading a book .. but then i come up with the " do you know what a book is ? " .. i swear if you guys try to talk to those people about ethics , they're gonna be like " are you psychologically disturbed ? " .. maybe i shouldnt do it .. maybe i just need to ignore ..and go on , but im sorry i cant .. and i dont care how ridiculous i look or sound , but i just hate it how our society deteriorates just because of some ignorant people .. come on , we cannot be that much weak and unable to confront those people ..

I think you're absolutely right & you know why? coz people have started to see things backwards, I was talking to a friend of mine today & she was telling me about that guy whose wife was prevented from using the swimming pool in this hotel coz she was wearing an islamic swimwear & that would annoy the tourists!!!..I mean, WTH?! so now you're not only allowing tourists to go on naked & do whatever you're preventing us from dressing appropriately??....I think the principal should be that tourists should respect this country they're visiting (culture & religion wise) & the country should respect its people & stop making them its least priority.

True true. I get treated like a foreigner in Egypt which is understandable I guess and it is soooo not fair. I mean I don't really blame the tourists but our people b/c we let them (the tourists) do that. We treat our own worse than foreigners. Like I said before, this police officer yelled at my brother for something and my cousin told the guy that my brother and I can't read arabic so we couldn't read the sign or whatever and he was like i'm soo so so sorry. Please keep doing what you were doing. Forget what I said. I mean thanks dude haha, but that's not cool. For the nudity thing, we could just not have any topless beaches and if someone does go topless they should get fined. If we don't want the foreigners to drink, than why sell alcohol. If we don't want them to go to clubs, than why do we have clubs in Sharm?? You get it haha. I'm just trying to look at it from both sides here. Like I don't agree with nudity, drinking, smoking, and whatever else. I think we let it happen. They wouldn't do it if we didn't want them to do it and set limits, but no one says anything.

I don't really see a point when tourists go to Egypt and run around topless in the middle of the day in front of children in a hotel. They should be ashamed of themselves. Not because they can do it in their country means they can do it in another one. And the people in the hotel shouldn't stay quiet and watch.

Awesome question!!!! I say: Since France banned the burqa coz it doesn't suit its "principles and fundamentals", we should ban extra revealing bikinis and topless women for the exact same reason.

Fedz

Nice question Sultan yea we r cheap and tourists are first class people and Egyptians are third class Mubarak is a great person :)
