How are the SDS Longboard Skateboards?

Does anyone know if the San Diego Speed longboard would be worth buying just to cruise around the city for someone who hasnt really skated before. I just want something to ride to work and class from my apartment. I dont really want anything expensive, just something functional. Thanks for any help you can provide.
