What's the green ball that you get in Super Mario Forever?

Need help trying to hook the ball in bowling?

  • I'm 20, a female, about 5'6" and 102 lbs, I have been bowling since I was about 4 or 5. I throw a Storm Special Agent bowling ball which is 15 pounds, and my average is 181, and I throw it usually anywhere from 14 to 15 mph. I stand pretty much all the way to the right, throw between the first and second arrow and lightly hook the ball in. The place I bowl at has medium-light oiled lanes. So that kinda describes me, now I recently decided I want to try and hook the ball more, I want to stand more in the middle/to the left and hook it around the lane. So what would be a good bowling ball and how exactly is it done? I have been trying to get it, but it just barely hooks, my friend on my team told me I don't have the wrist strength to hook it that much and I need a lighter ball but we don't know whats a good weight.

  • Answer:

Well you can throw a hook with any ball really. I was taught to throw a hook using the analogy of a hand shake. Do Not swing your hand over the top of the ball because yes it will put a spin on it but it will still run straight bc it is not the correct spin. Throw the ball like you`re going to shake someone`s hand, so you should end up with your hand in the air(after the follow through) looking like you are going to karate chop. or as you are releasing the ball go to shake someone`s hand, this way you don't rotate your hand over the top of the ball and end up with your palm facing the floor. If you are right-handed then your palm should face left and vice-versa if you are left handed. That's just the best way to describe it with out actually showing you. If you can handle a 15lb ball you shouldn't have to worry about wrist strength. Also, it is hard for me to tell you where to stand since I haven't seen how the weight placement is inside of your ball. Your starting position depends on where the weights are placed, some balls are just setup to curve way more than others. If you are doing everything correct (shaking hands and following through) it could be the weight placement in your ball, throw another ball the exact same way you throw yours and you could see a huge difference Maybe you can go to youtube.com and search how to throw a hook and you should be able to see the analogy.
