How can I Skateboard?

• I'am 15 and want to skateboard. All my friends skateboard and I'am kinda the odd one out. I want to know the basics of how to skateboard and also what board should I get as my first skateboard. Also if you could, tell me how you learnt to skateboard. I can balance on a skateboard but when I start to move I loose my balance. :\

Get comfortable with your board, ride it around,loosen and tighten your trucks,adjust your wheels.One of the basic tricks of skateboarding is the ollie. This is the base of every trick. There are some videos on youtube that will show you how to ollie and all other tricks.If your going street skateboarding which is Stairs, rails,ledges,banks and other obstacles in public, you most likely wont need a helmet,but if your on the safe side you should wear a helmet.Vert is Halfpipes and ramps.
