How can I make the Cheerleading Squad?

How can I make the Varsity Cheerleading Squad?

I'm gonna be a Junior next year so I can only be on Varsity. I've never had any cheerleading experience before. I asked a girl on the squad what I they did at tryouts. She said they learned a cheer a dance and star bursts (whatever they are.) I've never seen the girls tumble only the guys so I'm not sure if that's a requirement. The squad placed 3rd in regionals last year. Any suggestions on what to do and learn? Do I have a chance?

If you go to Youtube and type in Cheer Starbursts, you will be able to see how they are done. Being able to learn a cheer and dance in a short period of time is key. Flexibility is also key. Jumps, Jumps and Jumps. Start practicing now, so when cheer tryouts happen you will be ready to go. Consider joining an All-Star Team to get some experience under your belt.
