What length and width of skateboard should I get?

What Kind Of Skateboard Should I Get? Shoes?

  • I am 135 pounds, 5 ft 8, shoe size 9.5 and I am trying to learn how to skate. My friend has offered to give me advice, but I dont know what kind of board to get. (Length, width) My friend says that when i go to the store, i should get a complete skateboard (Alien Workshop or Habitat) I want a skateboard that is good for just riding around and also for doing some tricks too, like ollies, kickflips, and more (when i get more experienced). And I have also decided to get skateboarding shoes too. My friend recommends Nike Sb or DC. I think ill go with DC, but im not really sure.

    Go With a Plan-B skateboard. They have good pop and can last long. DC is what you should go with. I have DC and I get them in August and still have them and not one hole in them.

so.... as a beginner the company of deck shouldn't really matter as u will mostly be riding around and by the time u will be doin major tricks u will probably have a new deck. so to start i would get a shop deck for a good price or something that appeals to U. but u do have to worry about the size. I would recommend a 7.75, which is pretty standard and good for just about anything. as for shoes DO NOT i repeat DO NOT GET DC. I recommend EMERICA, FALLEN, AND E`S brand shoes. and i would recommend gettin thinner shoes because the bulkier the shoe the less board feel u have. and board feel is important for doing flip tricks and such.

element is always best for board. its durable and it is really good for ollies. they also have really good graphics shoes? vans. theyre heka popular for a reason. theyre comfy, they feel good, and its good on griptape, but most of all, they help with flipping. get some pro shoes from a guy called geoff rowley. his shoes are nice. take my advice and good luck

For shoes go for Adios they have the best grip. Get an Element complete set, Or a Birdhouse (for board). Stay away from Habitat I got one and it snapped. In length get a 19' by 7'.

get DC or fallen but DC iz more known and they look kool so ppl will recognize u also don't get habitat get element since ur a beginner u'll want a nice light board that can do tricks

Since you are a beginner, I;s try a mis-size board at first, like a 7.62 or 7.75. Wider boards are more stable and easier to learn on. Boards have different concaves and shapes, so one board of the same length may feel drastically different than another. It's best to stand on the boars to get a feel of which fits best. The length of a board varies only slightly, so it is usually not much of a consideration. For the shoes, get DC. Nike is only into skateboarding to make money, they give little back to the skateboarding community.

You should get a zero board I've had mine for 3 years and it still is good as for shoes you should get emerica
