What are the preparatory stunts for tumbling? forward and backward?

What are some tumbling stunts that i should perfect before jv competition tryouts come up?

• my high skool is havn jv comoetition try outs in like 4 months. i havnt tumbled since like 5th grade. n idk wat i should practice before i start takn classes wit most of the ppl tryn out. we r required to tumble this year so i cant skip it. PLZ!!!! HELP ME!!

  cartwheel, round-off, round-off backhandspring, and standing backhandspring. I'm sure you already know the 1st 2. to get a standing backhandspring Have someone stand next to you, facing you. The other person should place one hand on the arch of your back and the other on the back of your legs, behind your knees. If you still dont feel comfortable, have someone do the same on the other side of you. swing your arms down, up, and back as you jump. The other people should push your legs over as they help to arch your back. As you get more comfortable, have one person do it. Then have them use four fingers, then 3, then 2, then 1. After awhile you wont even notice they are there and they can move their hand completely. TADA! Learned a backhandspring in 3 weeks doing that with my friend. Hope it helps! to stretch ur arms good for a backhandspring try this. put ur hands on the wall and slide them up until ur shoulders r bent behind u. dont bend ur elbows. that helped me alot when i learned. if u get to a backhandspring, this is exactly how ur arms will look when u do one. so itll help alot to practice now. Always keep ur arms locked when u tumble. Stretch REALLY good before u tumble too. ALWAYS! If you have a good round-off, and u learn to do a standing backhandspring, a round-off backhandspring is sooooo easy. Its way easier to learn too. Do the exact same thing I said before, but start a few feet away, run, do a round-off, and when u land. u should be in the position to do a standing backhandspring. DO NOT STOP. flip backwards. they will catch you! lol. I learned a round-off backhandspring in two PRACTICES! so that should help. Good luck!
