How Do I Become Pro At Skateboarding?

  • I am 14 and I have been skateboarding for about a month. I can already ollie. I am very, very close to doing a kickflip and I recently have been practicing the nollie (which I can almos do). I really want to become pro at skateboarding. Is there a varity of tricks I should do and how can I become pro? It is summer and I am practicing almost ALL day and ALL night. I go skating at 3:00 AM. How can I become pro?

    get better and learn more tricks. then join skate contest and try to win of course. its a good way to get noticed. and u might even get sponsored which is even better. another way to get sponsored is by making ur own skate vid and sending it to a skate company or a skateshop. and theylle see if ur good enough to sponsor u. as a sposnor u can tour w/ them , u get free skate products,improve ur skills , join contest, make skateboard movies/vids and get noticed more. and some high class (pro) skate company like adio, element, might sponsor u. if ur that good u might become a pro. but u gotta work hard and tour hard. good luck u could learn the boneless and some old skool tricks to become a well rounded skater so u bust bust out certains tricks on any obstacle/ terrain. learn pop shuvit also. ille give u some website where u can learn tricks. how2skate.com skateboardcity.com youtube.com (type keywords: skateboard instructional)

heres how you get to be a pro: have fun with skateing. if you take the fun out of it then you wont be pro ever. also right now theres almost no chance of becoming pro woith how many skaters are at the same and a much better level then you. dont get your hopes up

i dont want to crush your dream, but from what you can do now, your gonna need to keep skating for another 5 years or so before you think about trying to go pro. Im not saying you cant go pro, because you can. Just not where you are now. Go out and buy a skatebouarding video, and look at some of the crazy stuff they do thatll give you an idea of how good you have to be Good luck dude!

If you haven't seen the movie "Lords of Dogtown," go rent it. It's about the beginnings of pro skateboarding. Professional skaters start by being sponsored by local skate shops in local contests. If they win enough, they can move up to bigger contests, with a chance of being spotted by national sponsors. The most-noticed ones event their own tricks. Realistically, there's little chance that this will happen. There are a lot of very good skaters all over the world. Not every great basketball player makes it into the NBA, either. Skate because you love it, practice, and take every opportunity that comes your way, but plan an alternative, just in case.
