How do I ollie over something on a skateboard?

it matters how high you can get the board but if you can ollie perfect while moving you should land it...then it all depends on what ur jumping if its just a curve you should start about a foot from it but the faster you go the easyer it is to get over..thats just wat i do

What I like people to start to do when trying to ollie over something is try somethin gflat and built into teh ground...like a small drain. If you land on it whatever it's going going to kill you or hurt you. It sets your mind up and also helps your judgement of when to ollie. The next thing is try an empty can of pop, land on it and crunch no damage to yourself. Basically your timing on when to ollie has to be determained by you, nobody can really say when. It's how fast your going and how far you need to travel and all that. I say start out slow and ollie when really close to it. do a nice quick clean ollie. Your board goes in front of you because you're leaning back a little to much, the object obviously has the best of your mind just relax and try to stay fairly centered. Do a few practice ollies and then see if you can ollie that can or whatever. Also going off curbs over something may help. Being higher up helps just don't go to high up right away. small curb over a can something simple. Good luck
