How do you do front and back handsprings?

Front handsprings...?

  • Whenever I try to do a front handspring on the floor at the gym, my feet always slip out from under me, which means I usually don't stick it. The same thing happens when I do front walkovers. How can I stop this from happening and is there something different about the floor at a gym rather than on the ground anywhere else?

  • Answer:

If your feet are slipping when you are 3/4 the way done in the bridge part of the front walk over, it is probably because your feet are not tucked into your head close enough. Try to pull them closer to your head and then when you stand up they will not slip. Does that make sense to you?

Same thign happens to me! It's just the way the gym floor is made! No matter how good my shoes are made to stick when I tumble I may slip when I do a front-handspring. Whenever I do it on the ground or spring floor or grass I land it. Your doing fine!
