Which longboard should I get?

Beginners Longboard? Which board should i get between Original Apex 37 or Torpedo 40 orr?

  • I've been looking into getting a longboard- I've always watched Original on youtube- I skate but never really gotten into longboarding. I basically need a longboard to get to work - Its about a 10 minute walk so i might aswell fit in some longboarding to get there. I'm not quite sure what board to get though, I'm a girl- Short, I'm not sure how many ft that is but i'll say 5ft something. I weigh 54kgs. Sooo yeah, Any suggestions? Which boards do you ride or recommend? I basically just need one for transportation but i'd also like to get into sharp carving & freestyle as i want to learn tricks much appreciated

    I would rather go with the torpedo because you can turn sharper and it has a kick tail so you can do some manuals but none of these boards are not that great for freestyle. the apex is more of a freestyle board but i find lightwieght boards to be annoying when riding. I have a freeride 41rc and it's fast, carves like a beauty (bear 852's), and has 2 kick tails to do more freestyle tricks. if you had to choose between those 2 boards I would go with the apex.

NEITHER!!! I wouldnt go with Original boards. If you do, do not get the Original trucks, they are heavy, expensive, hard to maintain, their wavecams break easily, and they are not as customizable as bushing trucks. If you really want Originals, then go with the Freeride if you want to carve and freestyle. Look at brands such as Earthwing, Comet, Jet, Honey, Bustin, Never Summer, Gravity, Bombsquad, Eastside, Landyachtz, or Rayne. I recommend looking at Bustin if you want to customize your design. The Honey Chameleon is also a great freestyle board.
