How can I learn how to skateboard?
-
I am a 13 year old girl & I want to learn how to skateboard. My shoe size is 6-61/2. What kind of board should I get??

Answer:
You should start out with a board that is easy to ride. Once you are better, you can upgrade. From experience, I found it best to buy expensive but durable parts once and not have to purchase them again. Here are my recommendations: 7.75" deck (This will fit your shoe size) *I recommend Girl or Almost decks, they are great quality Any bolts (This part really doesn't matter) Shock pad aka risers (This helps to conserve your deck and absorb shock as well) *Buy any brand, soft risers Low trucks (Don't get high ones, you will not need the height) *I recommend Independent Stage 9's, they are very lightweight and durable Bearings (Ask someone from the skate shop, they will fill you in) *I recommend Bones Reds, they are the best you can get for the price, and last long if you take care of them. Wheels 60mm (These larger wheels will give you an easier time starting off) *I recommend buying cheap big wheels; you will want to replace them later. However, big wheels are the best when starting off. Skate shops usually have stock wheels for cheap. When you want to upgrade, I find that Ricta wheels or Bones wheels are the smoothest and most durable. I hope this helps, good luck!

I think you shouldn't start with a walmart or target boards. I recommend you to go and buy a blank deck that comes complete because you can get hurt really easily and it wil be hard to learn from those $20 dollar boards. Also you should ride a 7.0 size deck but walmart or target boards only come in 6.0 or 6.5. I mean its your choice if you want to save some money and buy a better board later if you get better but i recommend you not to buy those cheap boards! Have fun skateboarding!!!!!

probably you should just buy a cheap walmart board to learn to ride on. Learn the basics (riding, turning, and ollying) and after a while you'll get the hang of it. Then after you get better you should go buy a good quality skateboard. Also when you buy a nice deck you should probably get a 7.5 but its really just a matter of preference. also if you just do street skating you should get small wheels and low trucks.
Mr.Dude
get a blind or element for your first one, they arent the best but you will ruin a good board, i got a primary hallucination one and it did a half *** job then i got my zero <3 it is awesome, best one yet, though it'd be gone if it was my first board

Start off with a regular wal-mart board. It's easy, learning your self is pretty else. Watching friends are good too. You will get the hang of it. Then months up grade. :D
