What are some easy gymnastics move?

How do I move up to higher levels in gymnastics? Passionate gymnasts only please! (:?

  • I am a level 4 but the problem is that I am 12 years old. I need to move up to about a level seven this year if I am going to have a chance at being ready for the Olympics in 2016. I go to the gym at every opportunity that I have, but my family doesn't have the money to get me to the gym every day right now. I am going three days a week, but when my mom gets a more fuel efficient car, then we will up the days that I am there to 4. Anyways, I do push ups, sit ups, pull ups, sit against the wall, and run up and down the stairs every day to gain strength, but I am struggling with my back handspring. I know that I can get it with more practice, but I just need to move up to a higher level. I have a dream and I know that I can achieve them, I just need to move up fast. Gymnastics is my life, and I need to find a way to prove how serious I am about it to my mom and coaches. I know that someone reading this is as passionate as I am about being a gymnast, so please, please, help me figure this out? thank you and good luck in 2012 with your Gymnastics career!!! <3

  • Answer:

Well I want to tell you one thing. You can't skip levels. You have to do each level for a while before you move up. Second of all, moving up in levels won't get you your back handspring any faster, if anything it will make you get it slower because you will not be able to keep up with anything else. You should stay at your own level to help develop faster. Also, say you did move up to about level 6. Your backhand spring wouldn't be nearly as good as the other girls competing in level 6. If you really cared about making it into the Olympics, you would want to stay at your own level because you definitely would be the worst level 6 ever and you wouldn't be recruited into the national team. I say, practice back walkovers to help you get your back handspring and stay at level 4. There is a 99% chance that you won't make it to the Olympics because think of all the 12 year old level 8's out there, you guys are the exact same age, but she can do 5 back handsprings in a row and back layouts and ask yourself what you can do.
