Whats a good longboard? (the skating kind)?

• well, my birthday is coming up really soon, and im getting a longboard, my limit it like $250 I want a good brand longboard, im 5 8' what size should i get? and whats a good brand? also what is a store/website that i can get good ones at?

  I cannot really pick a board for you because it depends on what type or riding you plan on doing. If you plan on downhill and sliding, a stiffer board is what i recommend. If you plan on just cruising around and carving, a flexier board will be better. Flexy boards are bad for speed, so that should be important depending on what type of riding you are doing. I recommend the Earthwing Supermodel as your first board though. It is a strong board, symmetrical, drop though, and stiff. This is a great sliding board, that still allows you to cruise and carving around. If you wanted a stiff topmounted freeride deck, the Eastside Rocky Bomber is a great choice. If you want a flexy deck, I like the Earthwing Belly Carver. The new Gravity Drop Kick also looks like an amazing deck! Dropped to lock your feet in for slides, but still flexy and an amazing carver. Look at brands such as Earthwing, Landyachtz, Comet, Jet, Bombsquad, Tutone, Eastside, Never Summer, and Kracked Skull.
