People To People Sports Ambassador Programs?

  • I received a letter in the mail today, as did my friend down the street. Its was from the "People to People Sports Ambassador Programs". According to this letter, I can go to Austria, in July of 2009, for an Olympic style bowling competition, and to meet with world-renowned bowling coaches. When I went to the web site, I couldn't seem to find any helpful information. Is this actually a real program? Can I really end up going to Austria? How much would this cost me? If anybody knows these answers, or even where I can find them, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Answer:

wow i got one today too except to go to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for soccer. I've gotten letters before to go to Europe and that trip ended up being about $3000 plus plane ticket and other expenses. so yeah its not that cheap. but it is worth it trust me you can see the world and do the things you enjoy the most. in your case its bowling. you don't get chances like this very often. i think i wanna go, but you should think about it and see if its worth it for you because some people say they didn't feel like it was worth it. for me it was. good luck! =)

I do not know about your case exactly, but I have friends who have gone to Australia for basketball. The People to People program is very popular. It sends student ambassadors in academics and athletics. There should be a meeting date or something on the letter to let you know more about it. As for the cost, you will find out at one of these meetings.

It is 100% true. I was invited for my scholastics and I absolutly loved it I went this past summer to England and France for 19 days, I made so many good friends and i had a great time. It cost me approx $6,000. But that was all included food hotel travel airfair. I am not sure how much the sports trip cost but fundraising is available and if you qualify some or all the cost will be covered. The website can be hard to find things but once you find what your looking for its a breeze.

I got one today for baseball too, I haven't experienced this though but i would think that since they told us we can, why wouldn't they? If they said if you wanted to you go to Austria. Hope to See you there
